Hi all, I got my orange n8 tuesday morning. The camera is awesome. I LOVE the orange colour. Where else can you get an orange coloured phone? BUT there are a lot of areas needing improvement. I want portrait qwerty, lag free pdf browser( the preinstalled adobe is terrible!) and I don't know why but sometimes some taps just dont register. It did hang last night, I was going on the OVI store. Anticipating the firmware update, this phone desperately needs one. When I'm not dealing with online stuff, its fine and smooth. BTW, can anyone tell me where can I change the alarm tone?

Anonymous, 03 Nov 2010well if you like that phone you can go grab one and post in... morei know man that nokia will sure come with updates...but i now had enough with the phone it crashes nd lags which is not nokia standards....so i am willing to sell it...nd taking the iphone4...nd who said man iphone4 is expensive?? its damn cheap..the reason i didn't took iphone is that i love nokia though it was my first nokia touchscreen phone..nd i am pretty dissapointed
in etisalat iphone4 costs 2399dhs(32gb) nd 2049(16gb) nd its officially unlocked
where as n8 costs 2100dhs which is expensive than iphone4 16gb..

all the problems now happening to N8 it due to software issues. The device is really perfect. Nokia will release a new up-date soon. So dont give-up & be patients.

Besides, this issue is very familiar in pre-orders.

I remember when the N900 first launched , itwas like a hell cos of the software, but then a very stable firmware cam-up & not it is perfect.

            this is normal with Nokia...

            Regards

[deleted post]well if you like that phone you can go grab one and post in their page, but you need to know that Nokia updating the OS regularly and it'll get new UI/browser/tools etc.. and everything will be redesigned. in the end you get what you pay for as iphone4 is much expensive.

If you're used to something you can't live with other alternatives it's the fact, so maybe you're used to iphone then stick with it.

                  oh well
let me make your life easier

n8 dont not lag even with 10 or more app running, it may slow your phone down a bit, but it is not painfully slow

camera and gps on n8 and price are the new real threat to tomtom/garmin , compact digi
multitasjing view is a real eye candy in s3
hdmi is totally awesome working with blurttoth mouse

the rest is normal nokia features with some slight improvements

iphone i believe also have built in battery so if you try to remove it you also lose the warranty and your cell coz i think it will damage your iphone.

Andres, 03 Nov 2010Sure we can remove and insert its battery, let's go to watc... morePull the battery and void your warranty "YES FOLKS IT VOIDS YOUR WARRANTY", and with the kind of problems that have plagued Symbian OS lately I wouldn't wanna be doing that. Nokia are turning out to be a bit of a joke.
                            This N97 all over again.

I had N8 in my hand yesterday. First impresions fine but in detail I saw some disadvantages. Camera interface dissapoints.Uncomfortable like in old ones.No progress. NOKIA look what rivals propose. Video still has no manual control i.e. over exposure that gives over or under exposured shots under some conditions like light motive on dark background or opposite. There is impossible to film black or white walls that does not looks grey/kodak grey card/ It is surprising to me that still best control over video gives Samsung. I own S8300 and even with D1 it is best one.I never have over/under exposed movies with it. As great fan of Nokia still have to keep Samsung in my pocket
