- avoid half and incomplete charges.
- try to drain battery to the fullest, don't charge before its completely drained out
-switch wifi or 3g off when u don't require it
-close open app, as they drain a bit of processing power
-avoid vibration, its a huge battery drain.

There are bound to be few people who end up with broken N8 since it is such a popular phone. Still much rather use Nokia than any of the other manufacturers. Nokia has by far the best hardware.

I am using N8 for last 5 days. I am little bit confuse about of my N8’s battery performance. I am not very much heavy user of it.
My general uses are like –
15 – 20 minutes phone call, Web browsing through WIFI 40 – 50 minutes, video watching 15 – 25 minutes, gaming 15 – 20 minutes, audio playing 15 – 20 minutes, photo shooting with flash 5 – 15, video recording 5 – 10 minutes.
Every day I put it for charring around 9 PM. That time it contains 30% of battery life.
What you think? Is it ok or I have to visit Nokia showroom. Please advice.

When this device got launched I was one of the first people to get this, however...I experienced problems straight away and gave my views on this forum but MANY people didn't believe me and think I was a Steve Jobs fan!!! Surely many people like you and I having problems can't be slating off the N8 and really are having issues with this phone! I would stress out to all those who haven't yet purchased one to think again! For those who really think that this is the DREAM handset, I'm sorry to say that but you'll be SO disappointed! Oh, don't take my word for it...try it yourself and see if your going to return it!!! I did!

The next F/W would be rolled out within a week..

i've just bought my N8 days ago from one of the biggest mall in DUBAI for 545$.
but the phone is dead after 10 hour of working.
the phone stop chargeing.
i had took the phone to the NOKIA CARE CENTER.
and still there is now answer for more than 5 days.
i hope the are going to give me i new one.
SO everybody don't buy this phone untill the announced for a new softwaer.

Nokia N8 is one of the worst handset I have ever had... I was the one who was promoting this device to everyone before launch and after launch but this Nokia people have screwed me.. with a week of purchase my handset was continuously resta...rting for a minimum 30-40 times in a day.. I took it to care center and they flashed it but nothing worked..
Later they told they need to send the handset to Delhi Head Office, which was sent on 27th And nothing happened till now, Its just revert is going on is shown from last 4 days..
I wont entertain this kind of service, I would move towards a legal action on this as I have a Job Sheet which says Target Deadline for handset is 25th of October and today is 2nd Nov..
The customer care guys told me If you want you can go ahead with the Legal Case.. This is what Nokia is doing in India now..

Pre-ordered my N8 .... Gonna get it on 11/11 .... Can't wait.... But I'm a bit afraid to know that some sets are freezing/auto-restarting ..... I dont wanna be 1 of those unlucky owners.... Coz this is my dream-set,though a bit more ram & a new UI would make me even more delighted...But who cares??? It's still N8 .... The monster N8..... \m/

n8 is a xelent fone in nokia.no problem in using dis fone.bit xpensiv but can take by closing our eyes.my rating is 10.....

Cpsathar, 02 Nov 2010I bought this phone last week with 24k and dead next day!Lets get some facts here,did you charge fone ??Why are you not returning it to where you bought it from for refund.faulty returns on n8 have been found to be user error via my service center pals.Other returns have been for personnel reasons like change of mind.
Can you return a fone to Tesco for refund hes had it 2 weeks but john my mate just does not like it ? Thats his decision tho, i am fine with mine but i am not bullying him to keep it.He loves his blackberry but cannot comment because ive never used blackberry hes going for the torch if he can get refund.Tech blogs are saying the screen is poor on torch so could take mickey out of him but each to their own,if hes comfortable with BB and it does what he wants from a mobile then i respect that/..
To sum up if you are coming from another platform i can see how confusing and complex symbian is ,so,get your fone swapped for something YOU want and does the job for YOU.A 12 megapixel is not going to help a buisnessman get contracts when his main use of mobile is email/txt or instant communications,BUT,neither is the htc good for peole listening to podcasts cause their tranducers are rubbish and cameras.
