N8 users, two things should do or not do
1. Check your updates (bug fixes and new features) regularly. Software updates only works with OTA (ie. 3g Internet, not WIFI)
2. Don't install the not officially published Symbian 3 applications by OVI, especially third party software ie anti-virus, input method, font, internet radio etc seem more prone to break Symbian 3.
If you find crash or restart after install a application, you should remove it immediately. You can remove an app through settings->application manager

As a happy owner of my Nokia 5800 for a while now I have made some crucial buying decision s & changes based on some changes between C7 & N8 & some good facts within an unfinished review so far.
I've cancelled one order contract for the N8 with one network operator. I am now cancelling a second order which I made on contract with Nokiadirect.co.uk airtime shop for the N8. (Pending)
I have also come to realize that the pictures taken with the C7 are good enough & will probably improve albeit not in dark light conditions because of LED flash but they will be less nominal than the 5800 & better than my 5800.
Also there is some more memory available to the C7 for the C:.. The 8GB is well enough over my 5800 for extra internal memory & the MicroSC support of my current 16GB card. Space is not a problem for me with the C7 & 8GB less I will neither be using or needing if I am not using it on my current 5800.
So because my 5800 is a Music phone. I am upgrading to the C7 as a Music phone appeals to me more than the Camera appeals to my need. So I also like the fact that I can use my Nokia red matching accent headphones with the C7.
Just yet I don't need to play HDMI content from my phone either so the C7 again is a good option for me. Also my other decision for choosing this phone is the slimness, dimensions, weight etc... & the shape of the C7 which has been niggling me for ages.
So I have made a new Nokiadirect.co.uk order today. There is another reason why I'm disregarding the N8 because it's available on pricier contracts, so I want a cheaper contract which C7 allows. I don't use that many aytime network minutes a month either.
I can make do with Vodaphones 300 anytime mins, unlimited txts, 500MB Mobile Internet for £25, it's better than the £35 a month contract for me. It allows me to get the C7 in the browny, bronze, reddish colour.
So the C7 will get to me quicker aswell. I think I've made a pretty important decision both financially, needs based & a sensible decision. I'm pretty happy with my change & am pretty sure the C7 will do pretty much everything better than my 5800 which I have been happy with for so long.
I don't think I am particularly going to miss anything either. I'm sure by the time the contract ends the N9 will be available or something even better which may make me change the C7. It's going to be pretty exciting.
Sorry all N8 fans sincerely. My choice is Music phone not camera phone this time around.

Anonymous, 30 Oct 2010Liar the only thing that n8 has over the great samsung wave... moreProcessor and ram comparisms are a sure sign of ignorance and stupidity. The n8 has surround sound and supports avi formats. Full hd movies are shot at 24fps. Do they seem laggy to you? You won't be able to tell the difference between 25 and 30fps. Besides, the n8 retains its frame rate all the time while the wave drops to less than 20fps in low light conditions. Gaming on the n8 is miles ahead anything on the wave. Typing on the n8 with a free app (dakur keyboard) is as good as it gets. The wave looks like a tv remote. Its ugly buttons upfront don't score it positive either.

Anonymous, 30 Oct 2010Liar the only thing that n8 has over the great samsung wave... moreWell ur not that correct either, the n8 does have 30fps recording through mod, the n8 does have dolby surround sound, the typing is fixed on the next update which also features a portrait qwerty keyboard, u can also use SWYPE too, gaming is at par with iphone4 on the n8 and to me the n8 is more stylish than the wave.
