I have used HTC desire for a month. I must say it was the most aesthetically pleasing handset I ever owned. Its egronomics, its hardware and breezy software is a real treat to enjoy. However, unfortunately, its battery sucks big time. I know there are people who would ask you to take certain steps to improve battery times, but then, whats the point in having a smart phone like desire, when you have to fiddle with your settings all the time and specially not using functions like live wal papers and push email, if it drains battery so quickly.
Thus with a heavy heart I traded desire for N8, and now I am happy because I have got a great camera, much better battery life and no fiddling with settings whenever I need to see my emails, facebook and twitter. Yet still, I do miss desire's beauty as a perfect handset. Hopefully HTC can do something to make stronger batteries for such handsets.

It really suck that Nokia still skimps out on ram.. The processor is fine even with the low clock speed, but a lot more ram never hurts.
Still having a great digicam and a good phone for a lot less money than high end shiny phones and fluffy OS suits me better.
Lots of idiots posting as always. Idiots that are suckers for shiny, fluffy mobiles that looks better than candy.

kingpin, 30 Oct 2010pls i need help am a phone dealer in niaja, sold nokia n8 to... moreI think you're a liar as any phone dealer should know what the procedure is when a phone is returned! So what kind of dealer are you....wheeler-dealer or just stirring here!!? If it's brand new return it to the supplier man! You dont tamper with it or you may just break it even further and then you'd sit with the problem. I shouldnt be the one telling you that!

Anonymous, 30 Oct 2010Never had any issues with voice quality incalls in fact voi... more-All brand phones have issue sometimes -
being in technical support i've learned that 90% people who have any they issue report it & spread dissatisfaction and hardly 20% out of all satisfied customers report good things if everything is fine -
i work with a company which supplies all brand phones and you will not believe we had people reporting issues for almost all brands phones being faulty out of box but its hardly 2% to 4% of phones from millions of units .... so its not worth fighting for brands ... one should always go for a phone which suites their needs most ....and any OS when new has some issues ..may it be IOS ,Android , Symbian , Bada and now you will see same for Meego
so here are some links for problems with all major brands and their supporters can have a look here

so bottomline is , on internet you find almost anything you search for, but this does not make any brand inferior or superior ... go for what you like .. as someone said No one is perfect .... PEACE

Have been using this for 2 weeks, and it's superb. I have no complaints other than the internet browser - it lags on loading heavy webpages. With 3G disabled (i not on any data plans), and not going online at all with WLAN & gaming, i squeezed out almost 3 DAYS of usage without charging. Calls, sms, took a few pics, listened to music and watched 15mins of video.

AL, 30 Oct 2010I would say go for n8 i have used htc wildfire and the draw... moreNever had any issues with voice quality incalls in fact voice volume and ringer are rated the best by gsma....
And music..... 'Great audio output
The HTC Desire pulls off the same remarkable audio quality as the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10, but is louder in terms of earphones volume.
In fact the two frequency response graphs are so similar that we suspect a similar (or maybe identical) hardware has been used inside the two Android flagships. We suspect that HTC have found a way to pump up the volume a bit higher, which has naturally led to the minimal differences you see in the table below.
At any rate the Desire readings are excellent all over, the HTC handset pulling one of the best all-round performances that we have ever seen. '

The problem with the sound of the HTC DHD, is not only the music player, also when some one calls you the tone SUCK, like if u r carrying a speaker from 1950's

[deleted post]I would say go for n8 i have used htc wildfire and the drawbacks are
1.poor battery life left desire as it has 1ghz processor and wildfire only 528mhz.
2.music not up to the mark.
3.voice clarity during calls is very inferior as compared to nokia phones.
4.camera is there just for the sake of it.
All the best.
