I owned and owning the HTC Desire, BB 9800, iPhone and had experience with most other phones such as Samsung Galaxy S and Wave. I had to buy the Nokia N8 since i bought Nokia for over 15 years and had to stop buying about two years ago due to many problems. Anyhow, I think N8 is great phone compare with other Nokia phones in past but it is not as good a my other 3 phone. The quality of phone, Camera are great. But problem is the Old and outdated OS by Nokia. Even gsmarena admit this i their review. Why Nokia no start with new generation of OS and give up on Symb.?

Dwane, 26 Oct 2010Yes I've already agreed its got a good battery. So yes for... moreYou realize your convoluted dreams? Even this website (gsmarena) was surprised just before the N8 came out because lots of websites gave negative comments on it. But lo and behold, people (ast least the bright ones) still ordered them and all proved these sites wrong. Later, gsmarena did s piece wondering why these sites gave all these negative comments even if they did not get the prototypes. Turned out, these sites were sponsored by either Samsung or Apple. Please put something worthy to believe here, my friend. You are one TWISTED individual. I mean it. And please enough with your youtube shenanigans.

Anonymous, 26 Oct 2010Well sorry. I am like the Energizer battery. I keep going, ... moreYes I've already agreed its got a good battery. So yes for a phone it serves its purpose very well.

For a smart phone though it is behind others such as HTC, Samsung, and even Apple (even though I would never get an iphone)

check youtube (I won't insert the link so you can't say I got a biased one)

        N8 vs htc desire
        N8 vs Samsung Galaxy S
N8 vs (insert any 2010 smart phone)

If you get one where the N8 performs better than any of these phones then please post it and I'll shut up

I ask you to do it and be honest with yourself

I lost my train of thought cos of this schmuck.
              Anyway,
Ever have that feeling, especially at the airport, that you're playing with your cellphone (as most of us do) but in the back of your mind you worry that it might run out of power and so you'll miss an important phone call? Well, not for the N8! Play away, listen to music, watch video and you still have juice left for that important phone call. No worries. Because I hate fighting for that plug at the airport against laptop/Android/iPhone users with big screens. The N8 can do what theirs can do, and much more. And I don't have to worry about power. Boy, I feel so empowered. And BTW, netbooks are more practical nowadays than 17" laptops, if anyone have noticed lately. More power to you N8 owners! :-) ... Just saying...

I have come from a n5800 & find this a breeze to use esp now its capacitive .I find that the 16gb memory may be slow as per usual .sound is better than 5800 & gud speaker .I keep missing the pop ups in symbian3 you get a little drop down icon on top left corner..To be honest after 3 days with it its not to different to symbian1 but very high spec, lots to try out yet but battery is very strong,on 2nd charge since sat morning.

Anonymous, 25 Oct 2010Dwane, checking your history you've been a N8 hater all the... moreDid you really check the history? No you obviously didn't as I have clearly being supporting this phone for months whilst waiting for it to be released.

@Dani, I've aleady waited long enough!!! while their are already better phones available now

Nokia lovers (and I include myself in this sweeping statement) remind me of people hanging on cd's -yes cd's work fine but mp3 is so much easier, newer and BETTER

Wake up people!! This phone is just good hardware and such a waste of it.

To prove I'm not lying look at my video's of my N8 experience.

Yes I am 'crying' as I was so excited for this phone for months -spending every night reading and posting on this forum to be let down so coldly with this seemingly unfinished phone.

Battery is good on n8 but i really think you need to come from a symbian background to be fair..ive used symb ian since psion days and its taken me a few days to get shortcuts on homescreen and other oddly placed settings as usual.Very solid build i wish dolby surround extended to music player in some surround effect way and where are own equalisers you create yourself i cannot find the option?I need a good few days to get it set up to my liking.I mean you can make a fone call and text straight away its all the logging in to twitter which takes you to some ovi place.Oh peeps in uk it has bbc i-player and xfactor stuff.

There will be no more distinction among Symbian^3, Symbian^4, MeeGo, etc. Just Qt. This does not mean Symbian is dead, or MeeGo. It just means all Symbian/Meego is consolidated to Qt. And developers will find it easier to port apps. Streaming media is going to be HTML5. Adobe Flash and MS Silverlight will have competition in this. Rejoice Nokia owners!

I am seeing this forum from few days to decide whether to go for n8. But here no one is interested in reviewing their n8 phones. All are fighting here to prove their phone companies are better. I think most of the people here have not owned n8 phones, simply there are here to fight for their dear companies. Come on guys please make way for healthy discussion on this nokia's ultimate phone.

So, why do you keep reposting your bashing comments? You are just lowering yourself insisting on posting on this site. Go to other sites where you can insult other people's intelligence. Hellstorm, 25 Oct 2010It's a shame nokia decided to waste such wonderful hardware... moreI have done a complete 180 degree turn on my opinion of Nokia and the N8. Before I got it I was a 100% Nokia fan so excited to get the their new flagship phone. Now I've got (had) it I can't agree with you more! What a waste of good hardware! Excellent camera, FM transmitter, Fantastic build quality and good battery but that all means nothing when your phone crashes and runs slow. This was such a let down for me and I'm embarrassed to be so narrow minded to have been so loyal to Nokia. I have been missing out on 'modern' phones and UI's.

I have sent my N8 back (just waiting for nokia to confirm receipt of it) and I can't wait to get a HTC desire -which is alot older than the N8 but way ahead in performance.

I know people will disagree with me but they are probably die hard nokia fans who only know the world of nokia like I used to. I used to be exactly the same and was even defending this phone on this same forum (check the history!)

My N8 froze up on me everyday and many other owners have the same problem, some web pages took forever to load or just didn't load, it missed emails when syncing with gmail!! and above all the UI looks so dull.

I am not bashing or trolling I am simply being honest. Those people not sure whether to get this phone just youtube it Nokia vs (any other top end phone) and see for yourself.

I blame wheez for me getting this phone! He made it sound amazing but now he's gone quiet after getting his -I wonder why....
