1.do... moremost(or alteast many of) s60v5 apps work on the symbian^3..
u dont need screen protector, N8 has grollia glas, which is scratch proof.. you'd only waste ur money buying screen protector, not to mention it looks ugly sometimes
dont remeber how much memory c: has, as i remeber it was NOT much, but HOPEFULLY enough

UzY3L, 13 Oct 2010Hello, Mark! Seems that it's quite a different story, pric... moreOver here in holland the N8 is 440 unlocked, wave goes for 350. And about the megapixels, in themselves they do not say anything, but the images the N8 makes really are in a class of its own. Just curious, does the wave have games like NFS, GT Racing, Avatar?

Mark, 13 Oct 2010Hmmm, over here Wave is almost the same price as the N8. Wh... moreHello, Mark!
Seems that it's quite a different story, price wise, where you're from. I'm from Romania and prices for the N8 start from 560euros going to over 600 if you want it unbranded and unlocked. The Wave is going for 260euros also unbranded and unlocked. And, at first, I thought that Samsung was trying to commit financial suicide with the launch of the Bada OS. But I've been keeping an eye on the Samsung Apps store and almost 2 months ago, there were ONLY 200 and something apps. A month ago it went to 600 apps and now it's at 800 and going. All FREE. I'd say it's not a bad store for a 5 month old mobile OS.
As for the downsides, yes you are right : no Ovi, no Xenon, no HDMI, no 12MP camera. But as I said, you don't need more than 5MP even on a 22 inch monitor.
I guess it depends on what region the phones are sold, I guess. For the price of the Wave of course I would buy the N8. But over here, that's another story.

Actually, S-Amoled is nothing compared to CBD-Amoled (which is newer technology)
Nokia's CBD quality is way superior according to many reviews and comparisons on the web.

Anonymous, 12 Oct 2010The N8 is too superior compare to S8500 wave, that's why No... more:) Interesting reply. I just love how people get pumped up over simple facts. How many of you use or need faster HSDPA or two days of non-stop music play? Not to mention these are all just numbers. Nokia has always boasted better figures than anybody else but the real experience is hands on. For example, the Nokia 7710 was supposed to survive with 35hours of music play. So was the N73 but after more than 5 hours with the phone set to offline mode, the battery had 2 lines left.
And how is the N8 mid-range? It's almost iPhone 3GS money. 560euros is not mid-range and the Wave is 260euros
I'm not saying the N8 isn't good it's just too expensive. I mean, what are you paying for? The faster HSDPA? Class 33 EDGE? Symbian?
So what if Bada OS is new? it's almost 5 months old and there are almost 1000 FREE apps and games on the Samsung Store page. And counting. By the way, I have tested the I9000 Galaxy S and the Wave and have found the Galaxy S with its Android OS to be slower than the Wave. Not to mention the Galaxy S's camera only has geo-tagging. Not even image-stabilization or a flash.
I'm not a Wave fan either. I don't think it should have Bada OS and I don't like the way it looks. Not to mention I would have expected a Xenon-flash.
I like the N8 but it just doesn't justify the price.
If it were MY hard-earned money, I would buy the Wave. It's cheaper and faster. If you don't care about the not so small camera and just...use the wireless to connect to the net, it's a great phone for the price!

UzY3L, 12 Oct 2010If you're a blind Nokia fan, yes. I was too. Check out the ... moreI would say the biggest downsides for the wave, which is a nice device, are the following:
1 No apps
2 Not a Smartphone (it is a nice featurephone)
3 No Ovi maps
4 No Ovi Music
5 No service (Samsung)
6 No Xenon
7 No big ticket gaming
8 No HDMI out
9 No 12 Mpx Carl Zeiss Camera
10 No Gravity app
Again I like the wave, but it cant compete with the N8, not even close man.

Now it open and will show available music and keep adding in background, and even if having too many files, it will take 1-2 sec to show all albums

The N8 is too superior compare to S8500 wave, that's why Nokia release their mid-end Symbian^3 smartphone the C6-01 to compete with samsung's Bada flagship.
Wave vs C6-01:
- cpu 1 GHz vs 680 MHz : 1 - 0
- S Amoled vs CBD Amoled : par
- display res WVGA vs nHD : 1 - 0
- Bada OS vs Symbian^3 : 0 - 1
- camera 5 MP vs 8 MP : 0 - 1
- Video rec 720p @30 fps vs @25 fps : 0.5 - 0
- 3G dualband vs pentaband : 0 - 1
- hsdpa 7.2 Mbps vs 10.2 Mbps : 0 - 1
- gprs/edge Class 10 vs Class 33 : 0 - 1
- no USB OTG vs yes : 0 - 1
- music playback 35 hours vs 2 days : 0 - 0.5
.: S8500 Wave scores 2.5
.: C6-01 scores 6.5
Concl: mid-end Nokia beats samsung's flagship

At more than half the price (260Euros new with warranty)than the N8 it's only downside (if you can call it that) is the 5MP camera. And trust me, you won't need more than 5MP even with a 22inch monitor.
