People need to learn how to love symbian ui,

do you wonder why symbian 3 need menu list which use some of the precious screen estate. The reasons are this is theplace they can put more funtionality into the apps, in symbian 4 this menu list will be moved to the top of the screen

my suggestion to symbian 4 is that the top menu list should be launched by using a icons instead of long thin bar in order to save space,

key to ui success is that graphics is better than words!

Seeing as how the battery is now 'removable' and it looks like a standard Nokia battery, would it be possible to replace it with a stronger battery?

Some people just don't just get that a lower processor does not mean that the device will be slow/laggy. This quote is taken from Gsmarena's preview of the N8:

'As you see the hardware is all there – there’re not too many devices out there that can match the Nokia N8. Some will understandably frown at what looks like unimpressive CPU clock speed and scarce RAM. Just remember that it’s the performance to be judged here and not the sheer numbers.
Different platforms have different needs so we’ll only know if Symbian^3 can do without a 1GHz Snapdragon after we’ve seen the N8 in proper action.'

No doubt that the N8 will perform better with a faster processor. However, a better processor means that the price of the N8 will be higher, so will the battery consumption, and the phone will be thicker. And nobody wants a more expensive N8 with a short battery life. Just have a look at

By the end of the day after I had browsed the web and listened to some music, I still had like 52% of the battery left when I went to sleep.

But sadly, can't comment on the flash part (which was the only thing you asked, lol)
