Anonymous, 08 Oct 2010all the neagatives are on software sides it does not mea... moreIndeed, just about everything is software issue, that can be fixed with firmware update, not to mention many of the things are about personal preference (mainly those who dont like Symbian), and the rest are pretty minor things.

Symbian^3 is in a VERY good shape straight out of the box.

tanmoy, 08 Oct 2010i am confused n8 or n900...please tell me who is better........Go for n8 the hardware and the software of n8 is much better than the n900 which only has a superior web browser, and meamo os was abandoned by nokia in the favour of the upcoming meego.

I went to bed at 1:30am after catching up on 15 pages of comments only to check this page again at 10am to find I was another 7-8 pages behind! (which I have now decided to just leave as I just don't have the time so sorry if I've missed any good comments)

I have to work, I have to sleep, eat, play with my kids and I have a girlfriend! How do you guys do it?!
You never stop posting and reading -Especially you Wheez, I remember you saying you had a girlfriend -does she get any of your time?!

Anyway Wheez I remember your post where you put a link to where you wrote how you could improve the N8 in a list. Thank you for mentioning the points I asked about ie opening a new tab in the browser, text message individual alerts and pop ups on the the internet.

On that last point I was wondering if the fact that you have turned your flash off in the browser settings if that has affected the pop up's too? (as I used my girlfriends blackberry 9700 last night to read this page and was suprised to see that all the pop ups worked when hovered the cursor over the 'in reply to' bit, and that phone is alot older than the N8 -released 2009)

I have recieved a confirmation email from Nokia that I will have the phone in my hands on Friday 15th!! I have booked the day off work and the Monday too!!!

all the neagatives are on software sides

it does not means alot to me, becasue nokia offer you firmwaare upate periodically, and current n8 owners are satisfied with their set,

Ouch!!! Can it sell in indonesia? I doubt it.

In here (indonesia) blackberry already sell like candy because all people, friends, family blackberry messenger and creating group.

Personally, I better buy Blackbery 9800 torch than other brand of phones.

tictactaylor, 08 Oct 2010Brand loyalty is fine, but the truth is that korean and chi... moreAnd what does Galaxy S have so it "should" be more expensive?

N8 trumps it in build quality and materials alone so hard that it's justified for it to be more expensive. And considering it's Nokia and not Apple, if u dont wanna pay for the quality and materials, wait for C6-01 or C7, get the same phone with less esthetics.

N8s materials and build quality are on of the biggest reasons I got it. It just looks and feels SO good.

I'm not sure if you even meant this, but the N8 is made in Salo, Finland and Beijing, China. Finnish mades go to Europe, middle-east and africa. China mades go to asia and USA.

Nokia may now make all its phones in china, but far from being just manufacturers they are developers. The west will make the operating systems like microsoft but the phone manufacture and design elsewhere. Nokia was always my favourite with build quality and ease of use, but in terms of value for money now, forget it! Lets see I can have a Nokia 5230 with a slow processor touch resistive screen screen and symbian , or a desire clone with fantastic display an o led one that's capacitive too, which has a great gpu and runs asphalt with no lag hardly, the hd version almost as good as my galaxy s! All for the price of a 5230 which I own too, use that mainly for navigation as that's the only good Nokia application, although google is fantastic, like the more detailed voice guidance, but that's it! This phone should be a lot cheaper but here costs as much as a galaxy s, not worth it!

Peoples here started t... moreIts understandable cos it was the only real option for a good while if u didnt want the iRestricted. Nokias flagships were quite meh and the os wasnt good combined with insufficient hw.

The N8 is from a whole other planet software, hardware and looks wise. Im not expecting to see ppl sell their androids if they even remotely like it, cos it is a good OS if u dont mind the shortcomings.

However, Nokia is totally back in the game again with the N8

what the hell???? cant they put a 1 GB processor to enhance such features? i dont think that the CPU is good enough to hold a phonesuch like that one considering the price
