Anonymous, 07 Oct 2010Please stop comparing wave with n8.they are not the same cl... moreYour list look impressive but
the n8 work smoothly, 95% in thwe world have no problem with its speed, even phone geeks haveno problem with its processing speed
the n8 apparenly has good battery life, and good price, these are also the good reasons to buy n8
n9 will be much more powerful than n900, it surely have higher screen resolution, to compete with competitors, n8 in my opinoion is upper mid end nokia phone.

Well you know what, nokia and samsung are both making billions and we don't need to support them. We are poor people and have to put our money to good use, hence our money is best spent on wave and not on this costly phone with lesser features. However if the nokia c7 is considerably cheaper than wave, i may consider buying c7 instead of wave.

India
Price :- 25,000 Rs.
Date :- 14th October..
Can anybody give a unbiased review of the phone regarding 'relevant' features.
Relevant features means those features that people, who do not regularly use computers or who are not geeky kind, also uses. eg USB OTG, flash player, maps, HDMI etc are geeky features while camera, apps (like games, fun or entertainment apps), smoothness in working of OS or crashing or OS etc are what a non geeky person is more concerned about.
please someone tell me whether N8 can be bought keeping in mind daily used or regularly used features and not those that are their in the phone but I may use it once in a month or may be never.

Did anyone catch my last post? I was writing about features from the likes of USB OTG and the FM transmitter and how Jim had to spent some more money to extend the premium value of his itelephone(but nothing can get him USB OTG). Also how he can pay AT&T 20$ extra to be able to use his phone as a wireless access point. Did anyone catch that? Its deleted now...don't know how or why

Please stop comparing wave with n8.they are not the same class.Wave has 512 ram memory,1 ghz and best screen ever made.n8 has 680mhz,256 ram memory, poor resolution...nokia will always be two steps behind htc,i-phone,samsung...I,m so sorry for them because they can not create better phone then n8.

caribala, 07 Oct 2010USB OTG - it's cool, but i dont really need it.
I can't in... moreDear caribala, you said, "FM transmitter - MP3 rocks better." But imagine, you are in your car, driving, along with your friends/family. You have downloaded a new song from the net while you were having a break on your journey. Now, you wanna share that with everyone, but you can't. Why? Because you dont have it burnt in a cd/dvd to play it in your car's stereo. So, what's the solution? Simple - use the FM Transmitter.
You said, "Aluminium case - nah, plastic will be fine.
I got rubber anyway. From the beginning." But I suggest you use one aluminium case, you'll change your mind.
You said, "Working antenna - Duh! What for dude???" Working antenna means that the antenna MUST work. What people felt is that iPhone4 have an antenna, but that doesn't work, that's what you read before.
Guys, I have been reading the comments everyday since last 5 months. Tell you what, no matter what the SE / Samsung / HTC / iPhone / other makers lovers say about this piece of s**t, I am still going to buy Nokia N8. I am just waiting for the final review from GSMARENA team and if they say that this phone is usable, then I am going to buy this phone. I don't know which phone you are using, but Nokia always submits the patches for the phones and that makes the new phones EVEN BETTER (for example: N97 - grew faster, N85 - gained accessable memory, 8GB to 16GB). So, even if you feel that your Nokia device is performing slow, I'll suggest to wait for the patches, it will be upgraded. BTW, my idea about Nokia not letting N8 to come out soon because they are upgrading the OS so that it doesn't let the customers feel cheated (N97's top hit was only 63% daily, where N8 had 97% yesterday).
To all of you, please don't argue just to make the phone you are using look better (even if it is not). Argue with constructive arguement & with a concrete base (fact).

With GSMA posting their review within shot period of time , here s a short note.
1.First of all if you are planning to buy N8 what are you expecting from the device and what to expect form the device.
2.How well will it compare against previous symbian units .
3.What compromises /advantages will N8 provide over iOS and android.
(This is whole lot different and controversial topic though)
4.To be fair let GSMA express their view about so called APP store.(I think that this is most exaggerated topic created by other platform users. I am symbian user and i have at the most installed 70 useful apps on my unit. All do their homework very well. Only insane ppl will care about thousands of apps, i think they are completely nuts)
5."You get what you pay for." Is this the case with n8.
(Obviously compare N8 with other phones with their current prices.)
6.How productive is the N8(USB otg, hdmi out , etc).
