This message will start with 'in reply to Wheez...' and on a pc/laptop if you hover over that bit with your cursor the start of the message it is in reply to pops up for a few seconds. Does that happen on the n8?

It may be there, but at least it wasnt there with the ringtone selection.
The web browsing experience here is the exact same on the N8 than on my computer. The only difference being (might be what you meant with your question) that when you start editing the text field, it edits it "full screen" as in you won't see the original page in the background. You need to approve the text field if you want to check back what it says on the page you are writing to. Personally I don't see this as problem cos its fast to approve/re open the text field editor and on the other hand the text editor is really nice, it's very easy to select specific place by touching even from the middle of the touch and stuff like selecting/copy/paste stuff work fantastically, cos it doesnt depend on the sites design.
Also, the browser does support multiple tabs/windows, just that for some weird reason there's no manual button to open one! I found away to open extra tabs whenever I want to. While in browser, press the URL/search engine button and google something random. Click any search result and it automatically opens it to a new window, use the window for whatever you wanted to have the extra window for. Yes, it's not easy or intended, but it works. In the browser menu theres a change window button that lets u perfectly change through the windows and do stuff like closing them one by one or closing all but the currently active window.
It's annoying but doesnt really bother me cos theres a way around and the new browser is coming.

Hi Wheez (or anyone who genuinely has an n8), I was wondering about how good the web is experience is, yes I know it does not have the option to open a new tab (yet) but when your on this forum on your n8 and you hover over the bit that says 'reply to....' does it still show you what it is in reply to? like it does on a laptop? As it does on my n95.
Also is there an option to set an individual text message alert for different people like you can with voice calls for different people?
Small things I know but I and I'm sure others would like to know so would really appreciate knowing, while we in the UK still wait patiently ;-(

The battery life is really impressing.
I took over 50 pictures today of a book I needed to copy to myself, the text is very detailed and so are all the pictures in the book. I took em with 12 mpix to ensure readability.
Also several hours of browsing the web plus like 24 hours of standby. 48% of battery left and it has been on normal power usage mode. I could easily get through tomorrow, cos I don't have to take those 50 12mpix photos, which took a good chunk of the battery day, but I have the habit of charging it every night in case I end up using it more extensively that I originally planned so I don't wanna risk it and run out of battery in case of emergencies etc.
Using the battery saving mode the whole time and not doing extremely battery consuming thing like taking those high quality pictures, this would go on almost forever :D

Note, the phone IS NOT laggy there. Those mentioned applications are. I can multitask as much as I want even when they are on with no problems, just that those applications UI work slowly compared to the rest of the phone. They still get the job done no problem, it's just that those applications UIs slowness just "pops up".

That is why haters have left nothing to target but camera. Low resolution isn't either a issue as per many reviews.
