It looks the same, but it has been redone for touch screen devices, the biggest things in common it has to the S60 5th edition is the name Symbian and the buttons. That's about it.

I rather keep my Symbian^3, thank you. I'm liking it alot.

Someone was wanting my opinion about whether to not get N8 or not and I get happier every hour for buying this when I find new cool stuff it can do. Worth every penny.

I have had many nokia's in the the past and all of them were great. The thing that nokia needs to do is change the os (they should of got palm before hp). iOS, android, palm os and windows 7 mobile are all good os; symbian is out dated! Eye candy (and apps) is everything now, even Rim plans to change their os to the play book's (that's their new tablet). Nokia doesn't need android but something Fu@king close, YOU CANT HAVE A OS THAT CAN BE USED ON A NON-TOUCH SCREEN!!!!
As of now iPhone 4 is king not because of the hardware or software, but it's easy to use and apps. If you think I'm wrong, tell me 3 reason why. To be the king you have to beat the current king and only android is putting up a fight for now.
Maybe next will be better for nokia, I hope so.

As well as the spec list in forum-nokia,com did not mention anything about UPnP/DLNA in N8 while my N85 does.

But it seem weird. Why will Nokia remove this feature?

Mark, 01 Oct 2010Nice overview. Still, some remarks: I think you need to ... moreI just compared hardware specs and since I have no idea about Symbian 3 I just can't give my opinion on that. The processor on wave is better than that on N8 when it comes to speed and graphics. Don't know how the dedicated GPU on N8 would perform against it.

The review on tech radar states that N8's battery lasts for 2 days which is same as the one in wave.

I agree to a certain extent that Samsung support sucks. I have had a tough time with kies, but they're providing updates for firmware and kies on a regular basis,so I hope they continue supporting their flagship BADA phone and platform. BADA is not as bad as it's made out to be. If Samsung supports BADA, then we as users will have wide varieties of OS to choose from. Although it might not become as popular as Andriod or IOS, it definitely has that potential.

No hard feelings, just my opinion.

Gowtham, 01 Oct 2010Can we connect Nokia N8 to a TV other than HDTV and LCD TV? Hey.. The N8 actually support the traditional TV-out method via the 3.5mm audio jack/ video too.. I think it should be the same TV-out as in my N85.. which could support PAL/NTSC TV

I think you need to roll up cpu, gpu, responsiveness etc into one factor. No user ever just uses the GPU or CPU. They use the OS. If the OS is smooth, it is completely irrelevant what is inside.

Battery life is important, not the stated number of mAh, I would express this as number of hours of continuous use

I also think the camera, optics, sensor and xenon flash warrant a bit more than just the plus 1, but that is subjective.

My biggest gripes with the wave are, its made by Samsung, and their support, both in software updates and hardware warranty are inferior to Nokia, and secondly Bada as a platform is nice but has virtually no apps yet.
