I am not worrying. Just informed you about th... moreYou cannot compare the N8 with them. Here we talk about a smartphone with a big digitizer powered by 2 processors: the cpu and the gpu. Now, Nokia 1280 is just a simple phone. that kind of phone can last 2 weeks if not used. A phone like that with 800mA battery is a powerhorse. The N8 should have 3000mA for you to compare them in this manner.
Now, nokia n79 boosts an 1200mA battery. Just like the N8. Yes they are both smarts that need to consume battery just to hold the system up. But, even though, the N8 was made with an incredible battery efficient hardware for a touch screen, it still cannot be compared with n79 simply cause a touch requires more energy then a button. As for the other two, to tell you the truth, i'm kind of surprised that 5320 lasted so much... with that small battery. Must have been the ancestor of the N8 or something:)). So, your phone is ok, mine doesn't last 3 days since anna waas in vogue:))

Carol, 27 Feb 2013worring about battery again? Just use it, my friend and sto... moreTo Carol :
I am not worrying. Just informed you about the battery life of my phone. My Nokia 1280's battery lasts for 5 to 7 days (always in silent mode with active SIM in strong coverage area) !!!.
My first mobile with autofocus - Nokia N79 lasts for 3 to 5 days (always in silent mode with active SIM in strong coverage area) with original battery that came with the handset when it was bought in Feb 2010 and also tested with a battery from a BEST unbranded company !!!.
My second 3G phone (after Nokia E51) Nokia 5320 battery comes 2 to 4 days (always in silent mode with active SIM in strong coverage area). I keep alarm in it Monday to Saturday.
I am not boasting / showing off. Just told you about my experience with 4 Nokia phones (1280, 5320 expressmusic, N79 and N8-00).

With or without that milion devices in the world. Now i know all that, you think i don't know?:)). But facts are facts. And is not Nokia who keeps symbian alive. It is Accenture, nokia outsorced symbian to accenture since 2011. So, we're for a long time now on Accenture covarage. Now, in germany even the devices are starting to fade. In stors they we're long time gone. And now, it's hard to find a new one online to. 701, 603( i never saw 603 in stores) and n8 are getting hard to find and becoming expensive to. What that means? No more production. Another step into saying farewell to our system. Ok, not that our phones will die or something. But old will become older and at a point we will all have to move to other platforms...

I'd say that 3 days is mormal with that usage. Also, battery monitor is not good, i've toled you once. Allot of times it gets false readings. Now, just uninstall battery monitor. Use the phone without worring every 10 min of your battery and let's see if it worries you anymore. I've obeserved that after i format my phone. Sudently feels lasting longer. But that is because i don't know thepercentage of my battery. As soon as i install belle extra buttons, i start to look every 10 min. To see the state of the battery. Thing that makesit worse, cause will just consume more then in a normal usage:)). Crazy isn'tit. So i'd say is ok. If you think that your battery is not working properly, just let it deplete to 0% (the point when it sais that you're low on battery) then plug it in and live it half a day to charge. Do this 2 or 3 times. See if it get's more stabilized.

Carol, 26 Feb 2013Yes, count me in the list. I prefer symbian over anything. ... moreAll Symbian phones, especially those running on excelent Belle FP-1, FP-2, and Bele Refresh, are equal to all other phones in the market. In fact there are some features and functions in Belle that are not exist in other OSes (you know that).
With Belle, all Symbian phones are feel like brand new. They are still very much alive now. I can feel the magic and the magnificent of N8, 808, and 701.
I read somewhere that more than 100 millions Symbian phones are still operating world wide. So Nokia has to keep its promise and obliged by a moral responsibility to mantain Symbian until 2016. Beyond that I think Symbian phones are still functioning well (because Nokia's phone are so durable and has an excelent built quality).
My good old E71 with S60 is still rock today. I even know a poor lady who is still using her 12 years old Nokia 3310 (and this stone age Nokia still working). UNBELIEVABLE ! No problem friend, don't worry, be happy, Enjoy our life.

To Carol :
Under rare / very rare usage (10 minutes of outgoing call and 20 minutes of Nimbuzz online in GPRS (not 3G) connection and 20 to 30 SMS of 160 characters each, watched four 720p songs and listened to 15 min MP3 using headset volume at 8 to 10 out of 20), my mobile's battery charge is 59% remaining !!!. Last charged on 24-02-2013 at 10:31 PM Indian time. Now 08:24 AM Indian time on 27-02-2013 !!!. Is it normal?.
But one thing. When the nokia battery monitor shows 19%, the battery quickly drains to 8 or 4% just for using 2 min voice call or 5 SMS or within 6 hours when kept idle in silent mode in such a case.
When I keep it idle only I can see the 10% remaining or else not. Because of this I am unable to charge the battery at 10%. I bought this mobile as new in September 2012 last week.
Carol, what to do in this regard?.
Note :
I have tested all these in strong coverage area only.

Once they're back in business again, let them re-invent a new line up of Symbian phones! that would be awesome, and I'm sure Nokia will get back their customers they lost and who for an Android phone. The market needs to give people a choice in OS and even though Symbian will not be the biggest OS anymore, a lot people will still prefer it.

Aadrian, 23 Feb 2013It's a great phone. If Nokia would make a new N8 with HD sc... moreYes, a dual-core Symbian with a 4 inch amoled screen. Not more then 4(i don't like phablets). Will be super for us:D. But the mass is washed away from symbian, the bad publicity of symbian will never convince them to buy. And Nokia needs money to survive. That is why they ditched our beloved system. Cause wasn't bought by the mass. In Germany, it is me against the world. So to say, they are all with android or iphone. Iphone is like 40% and android is like 30%. Then comes Nokia, but not Symbian. Now, slowly Nokia started to make some roots in here with windows. But you cannot find a Symbian device anymore. Even online is hard to find a 603 or 701 or n8. yes, even the mighty N8 started to fade from online stores. Also 808 slowly disappears fades. I sure hope i can get my hands on one before becomes an expensive rarity.
