Anonymous, 21 Sep 2010This phone will kill the iPhone G4, i am so glad that Nokia... moreI don't think the N8 needs to (or will) kill the iPhone 4 (it has no G at the end, btw :P). They are sort of in the different markets with different customers. This here, is a real smartphone with something other than eyecandy. iPhone is a really nice device for the trend factor, but feature wise it lacks so hard that anyone who gets a smartphone for the sake of getting a smart phone would probably look elsewhere.
Also, stuff like free navigation, FM transmitter, etc are clearly directed at abit older users, not the pre-teen who likes the iPhone with it's smooth and flashy transitions and the fart apps.
Both are and will be awesome things, but I see they have so different pros and cons that they won't excactly be fighting over the same customers.

Don't think that --- It will be launched in India at the max within one week of launch in UK (if not before) India is a market that N8 is definitely trying to capture --- In India normally low end Nokia phone is a big hit --- but High end is dominated by blkbrry/Samsung And now even low end market Samsung making grt progress.. So N8 is their key to Success in India

Yea, it may be oct instead of sept, but u do realize that its one day between 30 sept and 1st oct. They say shipping still starts as originally planned and theres no rumored 2 week delay. Only a handful of places were supposed to get it during sept anyways

No, Nokia just confirmed the statement to be false. First preorders are still being shipped during september. However they still have more preorders that they can supply at first, so everyone most likely wont get it by end of september. The original statement was a misunderstanding/cut off in information
