[deleted post]I'm pretty sure he just meant "bad ass", and nothing to with the Bada OS.
For sSavor: Most people will not value a "normal" digital camera even if they were cheaper and had more features, simply cos it doesnt go in their pocket 24/7. It's clear that a mobile phone will never match a dedicated digital camera, one reason being the lack of optical zoom, but overall a good camera phone is worth more than a decent dedicated digital camera, for the sheer reason you always have it with you.

sSavor, 13 Sep 2010I appreciate all the hard work Damian Dinning and his team ... moreWhy exactly is N8s web browsing capabilities bad cos it has a good camera?
Also, Nokia definitely knows it's more than just MPs, it has the biggest sensor than any camera phone, it has Carl Zeiss optics. There have been 12 MP cameraphones out there for a good while, but they don't stand a chance to the big sensor of N8 and the Carl Zeiss optics.

I appreciate all the hard work Damian Dinning and his team put into this device. But sensor as small as the ones found in most cameraphones will never truly replace a DSLR, and perhaps not even in high-end P&S cameras with a stronger flash, more features, and optical zoom. Even the way you hold them is better and more comfortable. After initial gimmick wears off that people bought a camera that can make a phone call and do other stuff, they also want a decent internet tablet with a smooth UI too. By then, Nokia already moved onto another OS. Forget 12MP. More megapixels does not make a picture better. The resell value on this phone will be weak in a year. Wait for the price to drop to $400 or less. The SE Xperia X10 on AT&T cost like $349 right now with no contract. Bigger screen, better resolution, faster CPU, soon to be updated to Eclair, and only thing it lacks vs the N8 is Xenon. And the X10 is nothing special on AT&T. Galaxy S/Captivate is better. There is a reason Nokia is losing marketshare in the high-end. That's what the N8's level is about. Midrange phone dedicated to photography. Besides, most people would rather stay connected on the net than take great pictures from a cameraphone. Internet browsing is more addicting.

Anonymous, 13 Sep 2010Yo Wheez, when you say android wins on alot of things over ... moreWell, I guess one could be more computerlike, maybe slightly more customizable experience and the mentioned eyecandy. Then generally speaking just preferences. Some people really like the menu hierachy and menu-heavyness of Symbian and just overall like the Android UI more.

In your opinion what do android have better than symbian apart from eye candy? Is there anything in android that u wish were in the N8?
Or does anyone else know of anything that n8 misses that are on other phones (apart from processor and ram)?

shahid, 13 Sep 2010ok people saying it is faster no need of 1ghz processor tha... moreI think your logic is flawed. Of course they are gonna take faster processors into use. One reason to not take it in N8s case could be price, currently it's newer tech than what it will be when N9 is released, thus more expensive.
Another reason could be the Meego it will run and on other phones the Symbian4, they are more advanced OS, thus will probably required higher specs too. One reason could be that they will lack the dedicated GPU to make up for the lack of 1ghz processor.
The N8 does not need 1 Ghz processor cos 1) it has the dedicated GPU 2) Symbian^3 is light enough 3) Of course it could have it but its a trade off for battery life and price
Stop being naive

ok people saying it is faster no need of 1ghz processor than why nokia is taking 1ghz pro in n9 with same os if these pro is so fast in its operation than why it is replaced in n9 when the same os used nothing change can any one explain only reason is that just no management or proper planning even these are the leading set in the market they will gradually lose the market as the trend is shifting towards andriod they have to really think on that creating beautiful set is not enough they have to create bomb shell like others i am still using nokia devices but all in all same software after updation even n9 can also work with same spec as in n8 why they changed just want to make there set price rolling up shit thinking? You people blame on the comments to each others dont think about the spec written on a sheet galaxy and iphone 4 are not only the paper tigers in terms of spec but in really they really out perform nokia any set till yet So just see and think with cool mind

[deleted post]Android is a very good OS, it wins Symbian in some aspects, loses in another aspects. It still has many "rookie problems" that will obviously get fixed with time, but Symbian is by far the more mature OS and it shows.
Most people complain about earlier Symbians. Symbian^3 is a whole new OS that hasnt been in other devices yet. It has fixed the major gripes people have with Symbian and for example the slowness of N97 wasnt really Symbians fault, it was the hardware.
