Don't they ? I am currently using a Wave. It too offers that. Can't say about others though.

You're lucky that you got to check out that N8 though. I am gonna go to the Nokia flagship store here tomorrow and see if they have it.

What I wrote below might sound stupid to some, but having options is not obvious nowadays. I'd claim that if iPhone had homescreens that were somewhat comparable to the N8 (im not necessarily saying it should), it most likely would not have an option to select how many of the homescreens you would like to be active. If it had max of 3 homescreens, you would most likely be forced to use all 3.

A nice "feature" I found out today when testing the device, although it's more like disabling a feature.

You don't have to have all three homescreens there. I for one can't figure out how to fill out all 3 homescreens personally. I most likely will just have two active. This way you can just fill two homescreens and if you do the finger swipe action to change the homescreen, you don't have to stumble to the extra homescreen you might not have use for. So it's sort of easier "going around".

Could someone please comment on the below features if possible when it comes to the N8?

              -Battery life (On moderate use)
              -Sunlight legibility
              -Track ID
              -Music Crop
              -Live wallpapers
              -Lock system
              -Router

I know that some points have already been answered but it would be nice to get some reliable sources to corroborate (Thinking about the Router Function and animated wallpapers)

              Thanks a lot!

I hope to upgrade to this phone from my satio. But all the nokia phones in india have a shutter sound which can't be disabled. I hope the sound is not there in the N8 as this restriction is not mandated by our laws yet impressed on us by nokia.

Cant wait to ditch my Android (Milestone) for this Symbian phone. Despite some strengths Adroid is nowhere near as mature and Nokia hardware has a good reputation going for it.

Just like in laptops and computers for example. I've never had that fail on my laptop, so as long as it's implemented, I don't see why would it fail to work on N8.

And no, it doesn't work on most Nokias cos the feature is not there due to the easily removable battery.

The N8 is definitely going to improve the market share of NOKIA in premium mobile markets. The only condition that NOKIA needs to make sure is that the software shipped with the launching model should be bug free. All other hardware specifications are fine. Some people showed some concern regarding the processor speed, but to my understanding and from what NOKIA claims this processor speed is more than sufficient to run the symbian OS. Waiting to get my hands on Nokia N8. Right now I am using N82, and am really happy with the performance of Nokia phones(6600, N70 and N82). Rally wish the phone would be bug free and performing to the max.
Personally I am of the opinion that no particular OS is perfect whether it be Symbian, Iphone4 OS or Android. Every OS has its own merits and demerits. It depends on individual to individual as to which operating system that he wants to take. With my personal experience with Symbian OS I am very happy. Really looking forward for Symbian 3.
