Carol, 21 Jan 2013Hey , the thing is a bit tricky but plese read as many time... moreMy phone consumed 0.02W, 4 mA, -60dBm (network strength I think), 8 mAh when in locked screen condition with best profiles and dailycop running in the background.

No incoming / outgoing call and incoming / outgoing SMS occurred during the test period.

Is it normal?. I tested in strong (all network bars were visible in pure white colour) signal area only.

How is the AMOLED screen compared to the N9 AMOLED screen? I'm not talking about ppi/resolution, but more about the contrast, colours and the blacks. I found the N9 screen one of the best. But I'm still thinking about buying this phone too.

Can you post your N8 phone's power usage (in mA and W) without background applications running under these conditions :

                            > in a strong GSM network area.

                            > in weak GSM network area.

                            > in strong 3G network area.

                            > in weak 3G network area.

Weak network means with single network bar.

Is a bit hard to express my self, when we talk about this apps, without showing it to you. The app has 5 virtual buttons. I am talking about the second button from the left side and the second from the right side. The one in the left is represented by to lines placed verticaly and horizontaly. This button is made to change the line position that appear after doing the mesurements. To give you the avarage. It is a white, thin, transparent line and above it, is written how much energy your phone used. I hope you will figure it out what i m talking about here. It is quite hard to explain. But please combine my first post with this one and you will ,maybe figure it out. As for that app you have, i don't know about it. All you can do to see if it's eating battery, is to measure the power comsumption while the device is in idle(will have to be always in idle, to have a proper mesurement). So to measure your phone with this app turned on and with it turned off. And, also, to do more mesurements to be shore it is a corect answer.

The daily cop is a theft prevention software. I am having it from the date of buying this phone.
The application was installed when I had poor battery backup during October 2012 (at the time of buying the phone). At that time itself I uninstanned and checked. No battery improvement.

I will try your suggestion. Sometimes the daily cop software does not register properly if removed and reinstalled (although I can remove and reinstall any number of times on the same handset with same IMEI) because of server error at the software's side. You go to that website and see.

12xu, 20 Jan 2013@ Carol Hi Carol, i want to ask you something that's not... moreHey 12xu. Yes you are right. 2g EDGE is quite a slow connection, i think it supports a maximum of 250 kb/s (but i don't think you will get so much speed) while 3g/3,5g can go till 10 Mb/s on this phone. On other phones can go faster. Now, i don't think there is a connection between wi-fi and power saving mode. It would be nonsense cause wi-fi already has a standalone power saving... If you go to wlan and hit options/settings you will see it. Default is set to enabled. I never needed to disable it, but some say they need to disable it to have more signal power.

                                    @ Carol

Hi Carol, i want to ask you something that's not clear to me, about wi.fi. When we have power save mode instead of 3.5g we have 2g. In 2g i can access to the net or from my provider Vodafone or from a wi.fi spot where it's free available. I suppose in the first case browsing the net will be slow (correct me if I'm wrong), what happens in the second case? I mean 2g influence wi.fi or it's indipendent?
                                    Thanks in advanced! Take care.

Detroit, 20 Jan 2013@ Carol I think you need to apologize to the innocent folks... moreFirst of all: it is you again. Second of all: i have never tried to convince anyone to buy this phone. NEVER. I always told to people who asked ME in Particular, what is my experience with this phone and my opinion alone. i always mentioned that i cannot decide for anybody. I also tried to help people who owe this device and had problems. Take a better look if you didn't understood. Third of all: i always accept teaching, the problem is that i don't accept stupidity. Forth: I am not belittle anybody. I was never doing that but with the trolls. And they kind of deserve it, minding the nonsense and useless comments they bring in this forum... Now, senior Gurpreet, or what ever you want to call your self. Please be a man and face the fact that you were wrong and stop trolling. And let's say that it is not "Gurpreet". If you are not, then my apologize because i called you Gurpreet. But that is all about i would apologize to you or, to any other whom felt offended by the fact that somebody laugh at their attacks and stupidity. I respect people who have respect. I also respect people who talk their facts. And don't talk if they don't know. i love the people. And i love helping them. And i love getting help from them. Now, before judging, read more of that two weeks you are talking about.
