mohanarajan, 05 Aug 2010I am planning to buy N8. Will it really worth for buying...... moreIf you're into photography & video - yes. It has the biggest CMOS sensor on smartphone market. But read some reviews first, you don't wanna buy another n97.

I think gsm arena is a lil bit samsung biased... Just look at their reviews.. They say wave is champion when it comes to battery backup yet all I see on wave forum are users complaining about low battery backup even after several cycle charges. whatever the negative coments about N8, I won't believe any of it unless I get my hands on one of this baby and find out for myself.

Jason - In today's competitive market, if a 4-year veteran Symbian user still terms this evolution something to "put up with" than this device is absolutely dead in the water. I use a variety of devices daily - iPhone, Droid, and Nokia n96 mini. Let's be honest - Nokia's software environment is by the far the least elegant and most glitchy of the lot. They are stuck on a rev base that is more appropriate to 5 years ago than today, and they are not adjusting quickly or effectively enough to what is going on in the market. Comparing Nokia to Apple OS is not even fair, its not in the same category. More importantly, comparing any version of Symbian as well as QT and Maepo to android - all of them fall short. And this, with Apple OS and Android being far from perfect.

Their hardware is great, although HTC is quickly catching up in terms of design. They should scrap Symbian and either start from scratch or release a modified version of Android OS. They deserve all the criticism they are getting - this is a company absolutely tonedeaf to its own slow self-destruction, which has continued to put out devices based on its 2002 product planning timeline, as if nothing in the industry has happened in the meantime.

have you seen this. an n8 faster than an Omnia HD. ARM 11 680 mhz processor is not problem. you have the fair 256 MB ram and a powerful BROADCOM GPU

its faster than Nokia N97 mini (ARM 11 434 mhz); Google Nexus One ( SNapdragon 1 ghz); Omnia hd (a8 600 mhz)

                      SEe it yourself!

I have been Using Nokia smartphone all the while.
Except for the E series , The N series and other Nokia smartphones tends to hang. As the result either we off the phone or took out the battery to restart again. At times when its hang , even by switching off there is no response , as result we took out the battery.

I hope N8 wont hang frequently. If its hang , there is no way you can take out the battery. Its a built in battery. And we did not want to wait until the battery run out to restart the phone.

If this really happens , Its a nightmare to all Nokia user.

im havin thoughts in buyin this phone since ive heard(and read) rumors about the nokia N87,that's the problem with buying you let's say i buy it(N8) the next week or a month etc... they come up of something better(N87 if the rumors are true) on the market to top it up the original price(N8) is halved of the price of the better(N87) new model...

So what im implyin is let's just wait for a while til december or january if the rumors are true or not...

Please include a class stating whether phones comes with built in unicode font support?.. so far i have checked only IPHONE has this features my current model 5530 cannot display unicode fonts.
Hope gsmarena.com will include this specification class in the website and phone search tool.
