yes it is always branded and unlocked. dont worry about nokia made in china because that is licensed by Nokia. its always the same as the one made in Finland. I leave here in Philippines. ZTE, torquea nd cherry mobile are being sold here. but Filipinos prefer Nokia over those other phones. I have Nokia n97 Mini right now. and looking for buying Nokia N8 on November here. Nokia X6 8gb is a good variant. I'll buy it for my daughter and an E5 for my son. My wife is also looking forward to buy Nokia E 72.

N8's ARM 11 680 MHZ is just fine. Remember 434 MHz run just fine on 5800 xm, 5530, 5230, n97 mini. arm 11 600 mhz makes nokia e72, nokia c5, nokia 6730, nokia 5630 fast.dont forget n8 is equipped with powerful gpu broadcom which shows more triangles in a test surpassing the smasung wave with arm 1ghz.

I guess Nokia N8, the rumored Nokia C7 and so called Nokia N9 is the start of the new design revolution from Nokia. We have seen the ALMIGHTY 5800 XpressMusic which is still selling and its total hits in this site will almost be 12 million with the daily interest of 46 %! Can you imagine that? The 5800 XM has sold 65 million handsets worldwide and still counting. The 5800 XM design was repeated by the 5800 Navigation Edition. It's just okay because it has the same feature. They just added regional maps and lifetime pedestrian voice-guided navigation licenses. The third handset that resembles the 5800 XM is the popular budget touchscreen phone with 3G and GPS with the fine 2 MP camera which can shoot VGA videos at 30 fps which is to unusual for a 2 MP snapper. I had Nokia 5230 and I must say the camera seems to be a 3 MP. It shoots just fine. The fourth phone who resembled 5800 XM design is the Nokia 5233 with no 3G and GPS but it still a smartphone with the fine ARM 11 MHZ processor and the fair 128 mb RAM. Then here comes the Nokia 5235 Comes with Music which is the fifth phone to resemble 5800 XM design and Nokia 5235 showed the improvements from the Nokia 5230 like the document viewer etc. This year Nokia revealed and released Nokia C6-00. It is the 6th phone to resemble 5800 XM with qwerty keyboard. The three main keys are somehow quite different from the 5800's. The 7th phone to have a more likely 5800 design is the Nokia C6-01 which was announced earlier with the fabulous 8 MP autofocus. N97 had the 32 GB version and the Nokia N97 Mini. Nokia X6 had the 32 GB, 16 GB, 8 GB version.

                  1. 680mhz is a bit slow for this phone i think.
                  2. 1200 mah could use a little bump.
                  3. Symbian OS^3 looks unpromising.

I own a 5800XM, the 400+ mhz is slow, specially when the you have almost full phone/card memory. I use bluetooth headset for music and calls, 1380 mah can run only for about 5 hours straight with it. And the Symbian OS^3 is uncharted territory, with the android integrating flash 10.1.. I would really like to buy this phone, if only nokia would make the release delay worth it

Anonymous, 16 Jul 2010N8 is the first phone ever to have a class 33 EDGE. That's ... more330 kilobits, not bytes. Who needs Edge when you have HSDPA!

How does this sound. Take a look at the Samsung Galaxy BEAM. 65dD loudspeakers, 800X480, WiFI b,g,N, BT3.0 A2DP, USB2.0, 3.7" SAMOLED, handwriting Multi touch capacitive input, 512Mb ROM, 384Mb RAM, stylus, 16Gb Internal storage, MicroSD 32Gb, FM Radio receiver, 1280x720P @ 30FPS, FM recording, WiFI AP, PICO projector, 1800MAH battery sound, 800MHz, Android 2.1+? Lots of apps. Mp3, aac, aac+, e-aac+, wma, wav, Mp4, H.263, H.264, DivX, XviD, MIDP 2.0, Flash.

Nokia advantages over Samsung. 12Mp Camera, 1280x720P @ 25FPS, which has better GPU N8 or BEAM?, USB 2.0 OTG, BT3.0 A2DP, 640X360, WiFi b,g,N, 3.5" AMOLED, capacitive multi touch input, 512Mb ROM, 256Mb RAM, WiFI AP, 16Gb Internal Sotrage, MicroSD 32Gb, Fm Radio receiver, Fm Transmitter, 1280MAH, 680MHz, S^3, Pretty good amount apps, Mp3, aac, aac+, e-aac+, wma, wav, Mp4, H.263, H.264, DivX, XviD, MIDP 2.1, Flash, dlna, WiFi tethering.

There are lots of factors to consider here. The fact that the N8 is built to capture high resolution images & the lens will also determine the captured video pixels quality probably being the N8, GPU may be more powerful on N8 also, but premium playback experience may go to the BEAM, samsung does make pretty decent imaging devices so it's a big technicality difference between hardware interfacing & software interfacing, BIG difference.

BEAM has a few extra qualities which I liked on my 5800 & a few qualities that I would love to upgrade to over the N8 inc... such as Quality Loudspeakers, SAMOLED, Handwriting, Stylus input pointing device, 3.7" screen, Wifi N, tethering, WiFi AP, DLNA, Fm receiver, FM recording, TV services, good flash support, high res screen.

But there are N8 qualities which could do with being ported over to the BEAM. Well you can't have everything. It's down to individual review before make mind up time. Noting the 384Mb RAM on the BEAM means plenty of free memory for applications since a lot of Android apps are particularly small.

Well, what says everybody, they both have the same capabilities within the media playback zone. The N8 having a poorer loudspeakers, but decent sound through headphones like the BEAM. Well shouldn't be long before BEAM is released but now that the N8 has been pushed back towards October release. So it's going to be a while before you can make a judgement, for sure by that time the BEAM will either be great or a dissapointment.

Nokia being very good with customer support, software update & patching is peace of mind on product support. Samsung used to be a bit patchy but they are promising some changes to some areas of their service. Ah well, let's see. Tomorrow onwards & latest vids of samsung look impressive indeed though.
