the app you are looking for is called 'music stopper'. It pauses music as soon as you remove the earphone. Symbian has apps for everything....for free , but you gotta know where and how to look for it.

I'll buy this phone next year when the price drops significantly. That's peace of mind.

Search for "For Your Ears Only S60" It is free download. It will manage sound on headphone plug in/out.

[deleted post]I think it will.. Here in India we buy phone for full price, no contract here, no company offers it anyway .. Thats the main reason, you will barely see smartphones here..
BTW its not twitter or facebook lol

[deleted post]I agree with you. However, I prefer my Nokia, because it does some important stuff like make a call, for example. But each to his own,I guess.

Anonymous, 15 Jul 2010in case you haven't been following, this is the first phone... moreI understand that Nokia want to give the best to their user.

But i really hope that N8 will be released in Singapore latest by mid October 2010.
My contract renewal date is around mid August 2010.
The most i can extend my contract renewal to early November 2010.
If i missed the date, i will lost my renewal discount (around SGD200) and gift voucher of (around SGD100).
To me, its too much to sacrifice.
I will be forced to take up another alternative phone by then.

I think there might be plenty of N8 fans will suffer the same problem if Nokia delay the release date to a too far date.

KSR, 15 Jul 2010********** Correction ********** It is Nokia's cheap q... moreHi there KSR.

Thanks. You posted so much bullshit about Nokia I had to come out of retirement and correct you.
Nokia, in its entire history, has made less "duds" than any other brand. Which is especially impressing given the fact they outsell all of the alternatives you mention. Combined.

They had 2 or 3 not so good devices, and currently the build quality is top notch again.

Whereas Samsung, even their 500$ galaxy s looks and feels like a cheap piece of crap. A flashless cheap piece of crap that is.

Not sure if those phone you mentioned are supporting that function right out of the box. If yes great!

Indeed it is annoying if the headphone unplugged accidentally at places mentioned by you.
But i agreed with PGQP that it is not an issue (deal breaker) to many.
It is indeed a good suggestion and i believe Nokia will be more willing to implement it for their future devices if they see fit.

Best of luck for your application searching.
                                        Cheers! :)
