Emorfy, 15 Jul 2010"Ive replied to your previous post telling you that cu... moreI think PGQP means this auto-pause function is not available out of the box. Not sure if those phone you mentioned are supporting that function right out of the box. If yes great!

Indeed it is annoying if the headphone unplugged accidentally at places mentioned by you.
But i agreed with PGQP that it is not an issue (deal breaker) to many.
It is indeed a good suggestion and i believe Nokia will be more willing to implement it for their future devices if they see fit.

Best of luck for your application searching.
Cheers! :)

Anonymous, 09 Jul 2010Ive replied to your previous post telling you that currentl... more"Ive replied to your previous post telling you that currently there is NONE of mobile devices on the market can auto pause the music player if the headset is accidentally unplugged and this is not a real issue.

      This is a suggestion.
You can suggest this to Nokia and they might consider it and maybe will make it available."

      -------------------

      Sorry, but you are wrong.

1-there are mobile phones on the market that auto-pause the music. my dead sonyericsson did it, and so does my sister's iphone (there should be others that do it as well...)

2-how can you say that this is not a real issue? Maybe not for you, but if you search the web you'll find a lot of things about people annoyed about it and trying to find a solution. Nokia advertises the phone as a music player (in my case, nokia n86, it even has dedicated music controls on the upper slide).so i bought the phone to do calls, sms, photo, video, mail, and listening to MUSIC.

Put yourself in a situation like this:
-go to a place where there is not supposed to be loud noise (library, at work, at home when late at night and everybody is sleeping, etc etc etc)
-use your headphones and listen to music. Eventually if you accidentally unplug them, and the sound starts to be played loud from the phone speakers leaving you in an embarrassing situation, then you'll understand why it is a REAL ISSUE.
-the same applies if you are using Bluetooth stereo headphones, battery dies, and the sound played loud on the speakers....
Just imagine the pain in the ass.

I found information about enabling this on nokia s60v5 and on n900, but no info how to do on n86. ( if anybody knows how to do it, I'd appreciate the help. =)

When my friends buy some phone, they always show me the functions (it has a camera, it has mail, it has mp3 player, it has blah blah bla) but in real life, they actually end up never using them. Instead buy an iPod, digital camera, ...
I don't like to be with my pockets full of gadgets, so if I paid premium price for a device that's supposed to "do it all", what's the point of spending another 200€ on an iPod? All just because of a minor software related ISSUE that could easily be solved with software update?

I don't buy phones to show them off, I buy them to use all the features they have. And the features that phones have, should be optimized in order to not annoy users.

Is it really that hard to do this?
When headphones are disconnected (bluetooth or 3.5 jack) it could pop up a dialog to just ask
"Do you want to play through the speakers now?" which the options: Yes/No/Always/Never.

      SIMPLE ISN'T IT?

Don't know how to do it, but if anyone of you knows how to contact nokia about this to suggest auto-pause so "they might consider it and maybe will make it available." (in new phones, or as software update to existing models)

I just wanted to know if anyone has info if:
1- n8 will have auto pause?
2- is there any way to enable this on n86?

(sorry if there is any misspelling.hope you all understand that English is not my native language so little mistakes might have happened)

So have patience, it'll be worth it. Also, nokia released a statements saying they want to make sure they give the customers wat they want, and to remove all bugs/features that customers didn't like of the previous symbian. unlike apple, nokia confesses to a bad product, fixes it as best as possible and as soon as possible. so give them credit for standing up and backing thier products up 100%

samsung, lg and even sony ericsson have all come out with their touchsreen smartphone, not only one but several models already and yet nokia can't even come out with this phone. by the time it comes out it would be considered obsolete. i bet there is a problem that's why it's taking so long.

You are correct. Practically there is no use of simultaneously opening 62 applications for any mobile user.
I have only written for informing the possibility of doing so. I was thinking, with almost same hardware I8910 is able to do it. So logically N8 can do.
I have written for them who are in doubt about multitasking capability of N8.
                        Thanks.

N8 can offer far more services compare to DroidX.. Many will argue DroidX has 4g but actually its not 4g, its Wimax.. Actual 4G is LTE whose minimum downloading speed will be 100 mbps.. And 2 mics on N8 is equal to 3 mics on DroidX due to the placement of mics on N8, the front mic (which is located on front-bottom of phone) alone serve as front and bottom mics of DroidX.
