Go & get busy with ur x10 and wait for ur eclair or froyo.
U can't ever be convinced by comparing a 400euro phone with a 540euro phone.
Nokia is bringing 'class' to 'mass' , so don't try to inturupt.
My nokia n82, n95 8gb are still geting updates even after 3 or 4 years. Can u give example of such se phone.How r u so cofident that se will support u for lifetime. From their promise, huh, be practical.
Am i sounding nokiafanboy-ish, yeh dude thats i am.

Anonymous, 31 May 2010Dude, other than the UI, do share how or why you think Symb... moreWhat I know is that the main languages used for programming Symbian are J2ME and C++ but the way their C++ is implemented is unnecessarily complex therefore making the OS prone to errors which is quite evident in current Symbian phones. Now no doubt they would have figured that one out but until Symbian ^3 ships guess we'll never know hence I find it incredible that people are already proclaiming the N8 the best phone ever.

wave looks ugly?man its made up of metal and weights only 118 gm with 3.3 inch(800*480) scratch-resistance screen and 1500 mAH battery...btw n8 looks like electric razor...
if u hate any phone fine,bt plz dnt give baseless OPINION without knowing the FACT...plz dnt try to be n/s/h/lsheep like isheeps...maintain harmony..fighting on the basis of phone brand is totaly useless...

At the mo I am so wow'ed by my new phone to an extent that S^3 looks ancient already. Five days of pure bliss no hung ups no freezes, which were a daily occurrence with the N97, had to hard reset every Friday to make sure I could use it taking pics of my 3yr old playing football on Saturday lol

And it's here where 1 GHz Snapdragon owns the CPU in the Nokia N8. And when it's about running very heavy tasks like 720p movies with very high bitrate / quality.
And when you can run games with 480x854 in resolution. Then it helps with a good CPU. Ofc a good GPU also helps alot.
Even my XPERIA X10 with Android 1.6 is twice as fast as the movies from Nokia N8 shows now.
Wait until XPERIA X10 gets Android 2.2, then lets talk about what's fast.

If we all have to use the same frame, wheels, etc, then the bigger engine will likely be faster in a car. The point is, running this spec, the N8 can be considerably faster than a snapdragon android device since S^3 (even if our opinions on its merits vs android differ) is a lot lighter and, kaching, not a VM. Why on earth would someone need those higher specs then, if this is already quicker? It is a resource constrained environment we are talking about here, where less energy use is better. Tell me, how long the battery lasts in a snapdragon device?
On top of that, the part that really matters, and you as an Android user cannot understand, is the fact that the ui is hardware accelerated, the OS dumps tasks to the GPU and this here GPU is tearing all of those Snapdragon configurations a new arsehole. Have you even seen the benchmarks?

DOn't take me wrong though, i know this phone is good enough for today or when it's released, but calling a phone with descent hardware with just a camera that is very nice for the new era is the biggest joke i have ever heard.

Secondly, only because Nokia sells more than other brands doesn't mean they are the best.

Third. Yeah i watched the videos about the Nokia N8. But as an Android user i'm not impressed at all, not yet at least.
Yeah, the Nokia N8 will pwn the hell out of anything that have with iPhone to do, that's pretty damn sure.
But calling a mobile phone with descent hardware that is a bit old except for the camera for future of technology. Uhm, you can't be serious pal.

hani, 30 May 2010no hdmi output no usb otg 4 years old outdated camera small... moreit is very strange and unconvincing answer, since when the lack of hdmi ,usb otg,fm transmitter make the phone very poor?!!?
you are counting the extra features of the n8 !
not every one needs these features,if i am in home i would better connect my blue-ray player or my laptop to my hd tv to watch a movie or any hd video,and if i put a movie in my phone that means i want to watch when i am outside.
and this usb otg ,as i understood it should allow me to connect flash usb to my phone ,is that right ?!?
the camera of samsung wave is outdated!!,may be because it is the first to capture hd video @30fps ?!
and then you wrote no hd video output which i think it equals no hdmi.
the price is about $510.
