Some powerful hardware on this phone, but I am sorry but Symbian is the poorest of all the touch screen OS's. Until Symbian improves or is replaced (by something better than maemo) then I will not purchase another Nokia phone. Shame, because I have always thought their camera's were the best of any mobile device.

Anonymous, 17 May 2010agree with u, N8 is like 5800, for mid range user and also ... moreAgree too. And, it feels like Nokia in entering a popularity contest with N8, competing with nonsense phones from Samsung. A real Tween handset, where the focus is on POPULAR specs, the things that tweens think is a must-have, not coz they need it, but coz others have it. Things that are nice to have, but not really important or even very useful, like multitouch, its a gimmick that experienced cellfone know isnt all that useful, if at all. And a super-megapix where 99% of us cant tell the difference from a 3 year old N82 photo. All these high specs in narrow areas, and still it cant do what N900 can.

I do however agree that its a 12mpix multitouch done right, it shows Samsung and other jalla-manufacturers how to make good overblown specs in non-important areas, its just that there are more important things a next-gen smartphone should do, N900 can do them but not this one?

ANd... If nokia want popularity test with tasteless manufacturers then why didnt they make a display that matches them? Because high res display is one of the areas where high spec is more than a tween factor.

android_king, 17 May 2010u should know that symbian^3 is not what u will be anticipa... moreagree with u, N8 is like 5800, for mid range user and also for testing purpose. hopefully they will release symbian^4 by 4Q 2010 and N8 can be upgrade to symbian^4 or else its just a waste.
its a bonus if meego device launch by 3Q and store start selling by 4Q,

still can't wait for C6,N8 to be release. Nokia will dominate the mid range market once again. For high end device lets wait for 4Q or next year LOL.

Anonymous, 17 May 2010S^3 will be best of both worlds. Great functionality from S... moreu should know that symbian^3 is not what u will be anticipating, infact symbian^3 is nothing but symbian^1 only with multitouch and extended homescreens, Nokias future will be the symbian^4 and maemo 6 and Meego, infact symbian^3 is what symbian^1 should be..

S^3 will be best of both worlds. Great functionality from S60 v3 and v5 combined with eye candy UI like the iphone, and touch friendly like Android and iPhone and WinMo with sense

It’s fairly common to see clones of Apple’s products over in China, and we’ve caught sight of an iPad clone before. Now it seems that another Chinese company has taken the time and effort to come up with the APad, another iPad clone. It’s priced at $210, which is less than half the price of the iPad, which could become a deal for those who are on a tight budget. Specifications of the APad include: see it at www.blingblingtronics.com

even though i got my galaxy spica awhile ago, i'm still gonna get this one once released. Eclair UI is great and responsive, not regretting buying it at good price. Some options in symbian were not found in android like built in explorer in the phone's drive, installing non-market apps to phone, but I can tell total "smatphone-ness" of android is comparable to symbian with better UI, for audiophile peeps they should not astray from nokia x/n series as these are still the best music phones in the industry. even though i found good setting for the spica mp3 player it's not goog enough for my last n series phone. huhu
