You phone does not turn on at all (meaning, that is like dead, no power no nothing). Or it turns on but the system doesn't boot anymore? If the phone is without power "dead"... when you plug in the charger, is that small charging indicator blinking? If not, can be a battery error, and i recommend to you to stop using or trying to charge that battery. So it will not destroy some hardware parts. You can change it your self and see if the phone is coming to life again. Also FOR ALL USERS: It is very recommendable not to leave the phone shutting down by it self, especially when you are on the net. Always keep the battery charged at least 10%. There are defective batteries that can discharge them selves to the full, meaning that this batteries cannot be brought to life with a normal charger, or not at all. Although, gadget's this days are protecting the batteries from discharging to the full by shutting the hardware down at some point. In some cases, especially when the batteries are defective, this process does not happen. Your problem can be also a hardware issue. This is more complicated and only Nokia can fix it. If the phone starts but there is no boot, just format it by 3 button method (i wrote the method in this forum, you can also search google for: n8 3 button format method). Hope it was some kind of useful for you:-).

i remember this, Symbian. Weird OS, everyone was talking about that you could install things in it, but i never found anything useful to install. So i bought a Nokia N900 because it was NOT Symbian, and suddenly i could do everything, suddenly i was using my phone more than my linux laptop.
I still wonder what it was about symbian that had some people so exited (not many though). It is after all just an OS that mimics feature phones.

charles duck, 09 Oct 2012it mite b showing u the powr of ur Phone 's GPU coz its 200 mhz..thanks. Can you give me detailed procedure to overclock n8. As far as i know the n8 processor is supposedto be work at the speed of 800mhz and may beyond 1ghz by overclocking. The nokia downclockedthe cpu to 680mhz. I search the internet but fail to find the rightway of overclocking n8 to 800mhz. Please help.

its a good phone when it comes to media coverage, its good BUT what it lets the phone down is bettry. Its poor in conception its take few time during video coverage,

If you bought it for camera it is ok, camera shouldn't have no problem. In night shots is normal that the camera will give you some amount of noise. To prove to your self that the camera is ok, go with your friend and take the same night shot somewhere. Then put the both pics in a pc and take a look if there is any difference. The problem with the screen is because of manufacture failure... and the screen cannot produce beautiful colors, distorting them. In low light conditions this problem becomes very visible and most times annoying, you know... is like you select 16 bit color in windows '98 or xp. Everything becomes like a paint. You can also see this problem very clearly if you play fruit ninja in the same time with a good screen phone. But, i suppose you haven't seen this until you friend discovered that the colors are phooey. So, if this is on your mobile, than you have no camera problems, the camera takes good shots, just that the screen is faulty and produce them wrong. At some, very wrong. At some, not so annoying wrong:). A screen is not so expensive, you can buy one your self and go somewhere just to install it for you. Or if the phone is new you can take it to nokia care and tell them to change the screen cause is faulty. Will be for free.

I dont notice this at first but my friend also have nokia n8, and that time i watch when he take pics at night then he got better than mine n tell me what's the problem in ur phone? I am very unsatisfy. I have buy this mobile only for camera.
