from what you said i suppose you must take your N8 to the shop where you have bought it. I think this problem appears when for example if i buy an N8 (i am from Greece -Athens)- not the N8 greek-import, but for example an N8 from Germany or Italy or UK in which (the shop who import the devices - not the greek nokia care) install the greek language. If i update (by my self), the update will be in the language of the original N8 version (uk,italian,germany etc) but not in the Greek language which is removed. In general the importer tells you when you buy the device, that in this case they will install for free any update to your language. From what you said, i only know this case. In alternative you take it to nokia care for update but you will pay (15 Euros costs here in Greece). If your device is an official import to your country, it should be updated without problem, removing the arabic language, so go to nc.

The firmware changed the fps from 25 (anna) to 30 fps (belle) for video recording. And i suspect this change also affected the autofocus when taking photos with belle especially in dark and lowlight conditions. I did a side by side comparrison and noticed that darker areas of my snaps were less crisp and contained more grain than in anna(25.7).

I doubt if an update will affect hardware performance; the camera quality should be the same presumably. Did you try comparing shots in the same conditions for Belle and Anna??? I tweeted Steve of All About Symbian; he reaffirmed that the camera should not be affected. I thought the intuitive UI will satisfy you???

THE ONLY BEST THING I FOUND IN N8 IS ITS CAMERA.
REST ALL I GO WITH AHMEDALI.
HE IS DEFINITELY TRUE.weather you people believe it or not.
finally the browsing speed depends on your network mainly.

No harm done. I do not condone hacking, and besides my previous post to mick has been deleted so I guess no other people will be seeing the downgrade steps and tools.
How has your experience been of BELLE? I love the UI it's slick and fast and I have not run into any of the glitches other users have mentioned. I still think that photo quality (auto focus issue) has gone down after the BELLE update in dark and night shots. That's why i downgraded my firmware to anna(25.7) mea12 variant.

I am not sure whether updating, downgrading or flashing can change your product code... But you should be able to install another region specific firmware on your phone but not through NOKIA / OVI SUITE. I have read that the swap devices should only be taken to Nokia Care Points to have their firmware updated. On the next part of your question i honestly do not know if flashing your phone with phoenix could void your warranty.

My N8 is a swap device and my product code is 059B656, but before it was 0599255 is there any way to get the old product code? , and also i have bought it one month back so if i flash or refurbish with phoneix will my warranty get cancelled. Please let me know

There is a difference between HACKING a phone and REFURBISHING / FLASHING a phone. What I am doing is providing the user with a guide on how to reflash their phones with official software downloaded from official nokia site. Therefore it would be the same as installing it from NOKIA / OVI SUITE, just like the Nokia Care Point people would do, without the extra costs involved. Therefore OFFICIAL FIRMWARE from OFFICIAL NOKIA SITE is legit, no hacking involved. I do not condone hacking, but if the user wishes to put a custom firmware on their phone it is of their own choice.

The most annoying thing is that the same hackers that have messed up their phones will be the first to scream that Belle is bad, their phone is hanging, this, that!!! My nokia n8 has never had any problem because I only download trusted applications of the Nokia store!!! Never mind the ramblings of these hackers!!!!

I've upgraded my N8 to Belle. All apps work in general, except OVI Store. When it loads then it keeps loading and I have to close.
Suggestions? Anybody has the same issue?
