n8 will be the best phone if you update it to symbian belle. it's really fast and nice. I love it now because it easy to use.

guys help..... cant send txt msg... but ican recieve and make calls... transfer my sim to other phones, it work. so the problem is not sim related, guess it was my n8.

Basically I am totally in awe of the N-8s capabilities. Ok my first real smartphone. It is my life-line here in rural Costa Rica. I have no power and have to charge the fone in my Pathfinder but at the same time am plugged into the world via BBC world news, YouTube and all the rest the web offers. Two gripes tho: lack of copy-paste or mark and copy option (I tried Opera and didn't like it), and this, which has been bugging me lately: the screen jumps position when I click on, say, "send" and I find I've selected some other choice, on various occasions "delete ". Why should I have to be so extra-careful doing such a simple operation?

This phone rulz. Nothing on the market comes even close in terms of price/functionality ratio. Maybe the SE Neo.. but the plastic body...not so much :)

AnonD-3171, 26 Sep 2011just bought it today...and im having purple tint prb...but ... moreYes, just buy the application from the ovi store called "stay unlock, dim lights" it turnes the screen brightness up an stops the dim that causes the purple and turnes the light sensor off, but you can lock your phone manuly eith the switch on the side. That app will completley get rid of your purple tint just dont exit the app it needs to run in the background to work..
But it woks like a charm.....

Sometimes nokia headsets need to be plugged deeper than it seems. When you feel that they are already plugged just push a little more and you will see that it can go further in. Also try connect and disconnect the cable. The first time I tried the headsets I thought they didn´t work properly, but once I plugged them again and applying more preassure they clicked and worked fine.

And N8 is also capable of Continuous Auto Focus. So, your Android is iOS-ish? That means it is a copy & wanna-be iOS. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Our Symbian is a unique OS & runs with less power (less resource hungry). Symbian got a point there as well. And you didn't write about some staffs like HDMI, USB on-the-go, Radio Transmitter, divX & Xvid support out of the box, Office editor, penta-band 3G support (no matter where you go, you can carry your phone with you) etc. Tell me, starting from HDMI, how many points did your X10 collect? None? Tsk, tsk, tsk. Again, N8's 16GB internal memory vs X10's 1GB. Bluetooth V3 vs V2 (those who used BT V3 knows how fast it is comparing with V2), besides, X10 cannot do 3G calls (sad face). Guess what, it doesn't have TV-out nor it have HDMI. And the story goes on and on. I appreciate that you compared N8 with X10, but, to manipulate things on your side, you compared only some of the features. N8 is a package, whereas X10 is just Android, nothing else. Those who are using N8 knows that they are using one of the most popular phone in the world. If you would fight for Samsung Galaxy S2, I would say same for you. But do a research in the market & you'll see that SE X10 is one of the least popular phones available. If X10 would be so great, not all the people are stupid like us, then people would have bought X10 a lot. Think about it, it'll be a bed time thinking for you tonight. Answer me tomorrow.

early on there were not that many apps working with belle, but now the java issue is fixed..
and by the way n8fanclub.com have got heaps of free apps for belle, the new one is opera mobile v11 (wich wasnt working) but they brought out opera mobile v11 to work with belle and there are alot more on the way just get your free apps from n8fanclub.com for free,
the only thing that is not working is fring and skype but that is it everything else is working fine,
I use imo.im for instant messaging and it supports skype msn google yahoo and alot more.....
I love my n8 with belle now it is so smooth and alot faster....
they should push this belle out soon very soon it is what alot of people are waiting for....
im from australia by the way...
