Nothing to compare.To my opinion, if your gadget fulfils all your requirements, thats best for you.For me til date there is no parallel device considering the utilty of my excellent n8.To me,n8 is simply the boss.Cheers

does this phone have hanging problems , i heard symbian has this problem in all phones is that true.

SOo we like to brag about N8 camera-e MP, the detail and clarity. But there's something else about it I find very amazing but does not get much airtime. The digital zoom when recording video is amazing. It does so without distorting the image. Think about it: hd video is only a few pixels so you only us us part of the 12Mp image sensor. This gives you room to zoom before you need to mess with the actual 720p. Great work Nokia engineers! These are some of the things we ted to forget because there are so many amazing things about the N8

My good ppl. Stop crackin yo heads. This is the end of yo misery.
This phone got more ability than most of yet to be made cells.
Owned it for 7 months now. I think 2years with it won't be felt.
One problem though. You won't take yo hands off.

its the only in a niteclub than can recrd video and here undistorted sound and get xenon fotos which are clear in dim light,,N8 is brilliant.

I say the N8 is thest camphone ever made and when we look back over the years at memories we will be glad we took them with an NOKIA N8.

aaaaa, 10 Aug 2011for those who are bashing n8's mediocre cpu and ram, have y... moreWith symbian Anna then Belle on the way plus apps been re-coded in QT things will get better..Symbian is still getting updates till 2016 and who knows what will happen then,,we did not know in 2006 what would happen in 2011 did we..Nokia may have to extend symbian due to its HUGE,HUGE,HUGE popularity and sheer amoount of symbian smartfones on the planet..
The Broadcom BCM 2727 was choosen by Nokia to compliment what Nokia needed at that time..It is a very powerfull GPU but Nokia need to free up a bit more memeory for it.
This is an example for folk who dont know much about computing,,
if you look at your tv set or your cars engine just think of all the possible combinations you can choose for these devices/engines..You can have your car set for efficiency or power or better spark plugs or better oil,,think about you tv you can change the colour/contrast/brightness with hundreds of combinations and think how many times you have tweaked your graphic equalisers day by day to make it sound better to your ears..
This is what can happen to all the going on in your smartfone and everyday the engineers find optimisations to make things work better,,these are seen as software updates,HOWEVER,these updates can bring in new bugs a bit like if you tune your car for speed the bug is it uses more petrol..this is what engineers are fighting with all the time,getting speed in a device whilst keeping battery life realistic...
The other big thing is software coding,there are efficient and inefficient algorithms,
Lets say you travel from A-B their are many different routes,each route will get you from A-B so the method is correct BUT one route is 2 miles the other route is 7 miles ..So altho both routes are correct one is efficient one is inefficient..So altho your smartfone is working coders can make it work better by using more efficient algorithms either making the smartfone work faster or getting better battery life.These are seen as software updates..
The last thing i want to explain is multitasking,as more and more items are multi-tasked up go the chance of conflicts ,bugs etc and is pretty complex task.In laymans terms the more people travel in a car and the more cars on the road the more chance of traffic jams and collisions.

for those who are bashing n8's mediocre cpu and ram, have you ever saw samsung galaxy fit running gingerbread? it's half what n8 has. 600mhz, 280mb ram.. but its running smooth... and no one is bashing it.
how about iphone 2g,3g, and 3gs? they're hardware specs are b.e.l.o.w than n8!!!
it's symbian optimization to be blame here!
look at cnn app for nokia and nokia battery monitor 2.0 and fruit ninja, they are all running smooth with no lags! they were rewrittine in qt!!! that's it!

Someone please help me with my N8, when i take photo with flash ON the picture becomes whitish as if there were a strong glare in front of camera and picture is never clear this happens in dark as well as in light. what should i do with it??

loverboy, 09 Aug 2011When will there be a cpu like the torch that has a 1.25GHz ... moreit has a really powerfull GPU and most phones dont have them, that is why the nokia n8's cpu is 689mhz the dedicated gpu does most of the work not the cpu....

I love the N8 for being original. used samsung s2 as well. I wud like to state few things.
Pros of Samsung S2 (Android)
-fast infact very fast
-big android market
-gud camera
cons of samsung s2
-touch is great, awesome
-android is a collection of different OS like menu drop icons from LG, USB on the go from Nokia, Camera from APPLE and many more to list
-USB on the go cable not provided with such a hyped phone
-to charge you only USB input
-no camera key
-no task manager
-every application you open runs in the background until & unless you kill it by a software
Android is gud but not original, its your choice guys.
My opinion N8, little bit slow but steady.

Always had HTC on a pedestal in terms of built quality. Never owned one but from what I heard,I considered their devices superior-until now. Friend of mine got one and within two months had to replace the microphone. His biggest complaint is the 6-8hrs battery life thanks to the "best OS ever-Android". Give me a break! Let android help you when you need to make a call and your battery runs dry. Getting two days on my N8 with moderate to heavy usage thanks to my "outdated and slow symbian 3 OS". Be smart people, dont be misled by jealous haters. N8 is one of the best devices you'll ever own.
