im afraid when the time c0mes that symbian belle will rolled out would 512mb rom can accomodate such update? Im afraid our n8 would only symbian^3 that cann0t upgrade to belle.

What country are you in Fred? As Nokia are doing a promotion on free HD games this summer for some countries such as the UK.

i bought n8 on the day of launch but in vain the sound quality is good but the amp is not u cannot listen divx or xvid movie sound nokia has to get change the sound quality and the other problem is while u attend a call the sound we think that the person is calling from distance i left the phone behind and purchased htc hd7 awesome phoen with good qualities the gps is tooo fast in the mobile better prefer htc

Microsoft Multimedia Viewer Book ( .MVB ) is a video format which contains video and audio for Help ( .hlp ) files.
Try converting the .mvb to m-peg4 or another compatible video format.

I've noticed also that other new Nokia devices have got 1 GB of ROM such as the X7. However, I'm not entirely sure what the implications are regarding that. The N8 and the C7 were released at the same time, but the N8 was announced in April 2010 whereas the C7 was announced in September 2010 so that may be a factor in the different sized ROM's.

Having surplus ROM allows room for future firmware updates, and also improves phone performance. If the ROM was completely full the phone would become un-usable.
ROM isn't something we need to worry about when choosing a phone, it's RAM ( Random Access Memory ) that's important.
However, the N8 only has 256MB of RAM but Symbian^3 is faily lightweight and efficient so doesn't require a vast amount of RAM or processing power in order to function.

I think you mean torch light, in which case the N8 cannot be used as such due to it having a Xenon flash instead of a LED flash. Xenon flash is significantly brighter than LED and if you were to activate the Xenon bulb for more than a few seconds it would heat up to the point where it would just blow.

That is also what I suggested to people...
But people, remember: Don put the brightness at the highest level, because you might overwhelm the screen, but 80% is perfectly fine and like 90% of the tint disappears..
