Ppl don't mind.i m seeing max ppl r not happy with n8.there is too much complain about it.if u wish to change ur set then u can choose n900.it is a wonderful set made by nokia.just see the comment in this forum about n900.thank u.

I think Im among the lucky N8 user, bcos my first N8 had problem of hanging, the only thing I could do on it was to receive call finished, I took it back, after they checked it, it was replaced outrightly with another one and I've been enjoying it since 30th of Dec, 2010, though, mine is made in china but it has been performing excellently for more than three months now, NOKIA ROCKS!!!.....

u know why, b... moreall right.. so i assume that the purple tint wont affect the phone otherwise.. oh and any other issues? like restart or hang or...
just want to keep things in mind to check before i buy thats all. thanks a lot.

u know why, because i'd bought N8, then upgraded to latest software.
i'm quite sure it's analog clock was 100% black, but after the upgrade, i realised there is purple tint visable.
i'm very annoyed with this.
but then i've checked pics, video etc., every thing is working as it should.
my other N8 is just perfect, even after the upgrade.
now i can say with confidence that it's a software issue!

[deleted post]itz not a small problem,itz clearly visible in videos,photos having dark ,black background,itz worst ! Spread purplish red colour ön the screen ! My 1st silver white had a restarting problem n 2nd was dead ,this 3rd orange is great but the defective screen is a headache,i cant live with it ! Nokia is nt trusted anymore !

FW update cannot improve camera quality, cannot add more colors to screen and neither can remove some...so forget to get rid of tint problem via FW update.

Chinnu, 04 Apr 2011What is the battery back up and how to charge to get long lifeBattery backup is terrible in the first few days, but after charging the phone for maybe 5 times, you will slowly see considerable increase in battery life. Mine now lasts for 1.5 days of moderate to heavy usage.

steve, 04 Apr 2011you can go to nokia care centre to change new screen...i ha... morehi gitty wait for the next update pr2.0 if purple tint not fixed you decide to sell your phone, im still hoping pr2.0 will fixed this problem, we need to calibration color display, i believe will fixed this via firmware, be patience.. But if pr2.0 not fixed this issue im also decided to switch to other brand, i trust nokia. But in this case i dont know if i will trust again to buy a next new nokia smartphone.

bravo to the management & staff of nokia co. 2010/2011. your products so far is d bomb, love it. n8 is the killer. when wld N9 be announced?
