i told you before guys to avoid buying n8. look whats happening now, people are flooding this forum for complaints. the first problem was the power issue, then the hanging and lagging issues, battery problems and now the amoled screen purple issue. From the start nokia made a big mistake releasing this flagship phone, ELOP from nokia admitted the problem and made a lie that the problem is only limited, i dont think so, its widespread and worldwide. Nokia as a company nowadays sucks. poor customer service and poor software updates.
guys beware of this phone....
what happened to the nokia fanboys?
dipto, adkane, koolesphrant, rdca, gitty, etc.. arent you guys experiencing problems? so funny you guys are so diehard about this phone and now you experiencing problems..
whats is the features of this phone compared to quality. is it worth all the troubles?

really superb smartfone.. I ve some qstn abt this cel.
=>Can i insert my usb hdd at usb otg?
=>mkv file is running only when i giving it to usb otg but not from others memory.how can i play frm fone or card memo?
=> what indicate the led beside the usb otg?

Seriously after using this phone...its fantastic..i am not a technical person but this phone to me is user friendly like always..just dont compare the slickness with apple , but in terms of a normal user which uses a lot of snapping picture , videos, games, bluetooth etc..this fitures is beyond comparison with iphone...seriously if u r a phone for fun junky this is the phone...brooo 12 megapixel laaaa.....

Goodluck on finding a perfect unit and don't buy it if the screen have a hint of purple on the analog clock. Save yourself the hassle of dealing with clueless people at Nokia Care.

Nokia, where is your X7 device?? Where is your Meego device?? We are soon in April, and you didn't announce any new smart phones! What's up with you?? I want to see the Meego phone already, and I am 100% sure that MANY people wants to see it as well!

Im starting hating my n8... more@ rdca yes rite its becoming useless now no good updates ,no more good applications despite of these thing rather than problems are also not solving and nokia is not bothering about user facing problems .the main problem is purple screen ..there is no way to fix this problem bcoz until they replace screen with its driver chip thats y nokia is afraid that if they admit this problem this will be 3rd big problem and they can have big loss for replacing screen in large scale of n8 ..no updates can fix this issue so its better to switch to other choice of mobile brand and forget n8.

yes both the N8 and X... moreDear friends who's got proximity sensor problems,
Just install 'Pocketlock' app (free from OVI store) and there will not be any accidental call 'hold' or 'cut' anymore... That application handle the thing quite correct...
However when you close your hand or finger on top of sensor, this app will automatically lock the phone and once you remove the hand it'll unlock... So when you're playing games etc.. this will be bit annoying if you can't keep your hand below the sensor...

yes both the N8 and X6 should have capastive screens. so ur saying x6 have the same problem? probably...
no, you dont need a pencil or a program to lock/unlock the device ..
and finally, i think u recommended the "E7", E7 should have the same problem..(i dunno, but im guessing)
the problem is "just" annoying.. its not THAT big of a deal, once ur used to it, i certainly wont trade my N8 for any other phone JUSt coz of that.. :)
but i agree, its annoying, and a silly mistake, and nokia should of fixed it before launching the device, i dont know how/why they missed it out..

Me too so disappointed with N8's proximity sensor. I got my calls dropped several times.

It's very similar to the X6 in this disadvantage. Let me guess if your locking system is slid like the X6 you need a pencil or app to lock it? I owned a X6 for about 7 months before trashing it and i'm still paying for the plan for it. Better of buying an X6, unless you want that keyboard i think it's this phone and the high resolution's camera.
