AnonD-1082, 12 Mar 2011You are just trying to cover up this whole purple defect fi... moreI would have to agree that, they are defective. My first one lasted 4 days before I had to take it back for a replacement. Then the replacement one lasted 2 months and it had to go back. with the next one after that going back within 5 days. All these phones were replaced not fixed, so a different phone each time. I am now currently waiting on the phone company to now replace yet my other n8 with a completely different brand. I have had enough. its in the shop more than I have had it for. I have always been a loyal nokia customer never using another brand, but the N8 has definatly changed that. I do wish it had no issues because I do really like the features.

Pre-historic, 12 Mar 2011There you go people. If this is a good phone why are there ... moreOh yea? do u think that no one has got problem free mobile??? well i dont think so... in fact i have not got any major problem.... I have nokia 5310, nokia 6681 (But lost recently)..My sis has Nokia 6233, Samsung galaxy 3, my dad has Nokia 5800, nokia 1202 my mom has Nokia 1209.. all my family members have nokia phones.... and among all nokia phones no one faced any major problem.... my sis still likes 6233... there is no major problem... though there are minor problems such as lagging, hanging etc but i did not come across any major problems... and there are no mobile in the world which are problem free...Even the costliest iphone has got much problems... Even i do admit that n8 has got some problems but surely nokia will fix it and remember there are not so many people in the world who have defective n8... if all had got defective n8, n8 wouldn't have stayed #1 in daily interest for almost 1 year!!!! my dad is going to buy n8 in couple of month... and i hope it comes with problem free and with PR 3.0 update.... I am waiting for n8.....

[deleted post]You are just trying to cover up this whole purple defect fiasco and can't take to see your favorite brand getting exposed for its sub-par quality control. Nokia itself created the mess they are in. You don't know how it feels like getting a defective device and getting a replacement with a defect still. Fanboys like you would not admit the defect and would rather deceive the unknowing public instead of warning them.
Negative comments about the N8 serves as a warning so that other buyers will pick a non-defective N8. Only fanboys in denial like you sees it as bashing.

Borat, 12 Mar 2011C'mon guys, this purple screen is really not that big of an... moreSpeak for yourself. We paid as much as those people with perfect screens while we got a defective unit. That's just wrong and you know what's worst? Having people telling others to ignore the defect and live with it. If Nokia was just doing its quality control right then they wouldn't be having this purple screen fiasco. Masking the problem with lightctrl would not solve the defect. We deserve a perfect unit and not a second rate, defective N8. You take this kind of crap but I won't.

C'mon guys, this purple screen is really not that big of an issue. I have it on my N8, but with choosing Nokia Dark theme and running LightCtrl while watching movies with lots of dark scenes, I just don't really notice it. Otherwise color reproduction of the screen is really superb.
It still is the best cameraphone, and really is not that much expensive. Every mobile has its problems. Would you rather choose much more expensive iPhone4 with Death grip problem? Or Samsung Galaxy with useless GPS unit? What did Steve Jobs said? Just don't hold it that way? Well I can say to you: Just don't watch Tron: Legacy, or use LightCtrl while watching it.

There you go people. If this is a good phone why are there so many complaints and angry users? Nokia admirers feel betrayed. They are not getting what they paid for. Before buying a phone, check the negative comments, they can save you your time and money. Negative comments shows the bad side of the phone, so keep an eye on it. You just can't blame the previous nokia admirers. We alreadly lost trust in NOKIA due to their faulty products. And Nokia can only blame their history. The USERS are the most important NOKIA, if you disappoint them, they will disappoint you. Ask the users, are there anyone, just ANYONE who did not have problems with NOKIA phones, for the past 10 years or so? That's enough time for improvement isn't it, but user's did not see it. The USERS made them to the TOP but it is also us, USERS that will flank them to the bottom.

Anonymous, 11 Mar 2011After owning 3 defective N8s I have finally got what i want... moreThat's 9 defective N8 out of 10. That's a very high rate of getting a defective unit. I'm happy you got a perfect unit and I feel sorry for the 9 would be owners of those defective N8s. Nokia better check their quality control.

[deleted post]I have also posted this in e7 forum originally.
Since the 3650 lauched i longed for a timer/stopwatch and asked many times for this to be implemented. Now to those who say why dont you go and build the app yourself, well.
1)Computer stuff is difficult to learn and i am no computer wizard,
1)Why should i when feature fones like s/e k800i or years old samsung d900 have these as standard.
Nokia did not grant the wishes of its customers after begging and pleading on these forums to emailing Nokia itself. We wanted a new n91 ,new n95 8gb new e90 its written all over the web what people wanted and we got nothing.I amongst others have got along rebuying n95 8gb and other n-series because after the n86 to me NOKIA CEASED.
I have been on these forums since 2003 and seen the lot from horrible slagging off to great speeches but even i too am admitting defeat.
I used to follow another member called Andy Burgin but have not seen his name for 2 years, has he left too after years of been a Nokia fan?
Nokia were doing well and the soldiered on lapping it up BUT they ignored the change in the market and their customers wishes leading to the state of affairs now.
I dont know what else to say,i hate the position of the market with all these silly touchscreens so have to put up with n86,n85,n79 as devices till ??????
Its a depressing state of affairs and with the econmy apple will also go by the wayside in next 18months.Everyone i know is DEFINETLY NOT entering into a 24 month contract so going pay as you go.They have not got the money to buy outright i=fone so ,yes, they are going Android. So whats to become of all this?? ZTE sweep in and take the market???
I dont know ,i just dont know.

After owning 3 defective N8s I have finally got what i wanted....dont worry its another N8, but without any flaws at all...no purple screen, freezing etc.
I mustve been lucky as I opened 10 boxes at the shop and found a blue N8 without a problem!!!
So happy with it and loving it a lot!!
