Let him enjoy his defective screen while we will keep on banging at Nokia until they sort this mess out. A defect is unacceptable since we paid the same amount of money with those with perfect screens. Some people have exchanged their N8 4x and Nokia keeps sending replacements with defects still. It's unacceptable. Nokia's quality control has gone down.

You can do nothing about it? Then you are really telling the truth that some N8s have defective screen, why because you told nothing can do about it, meaning there is defect but can not be fixed. Why you are telling its only in the mind of the user? You don't know how bad the N8 having a purple screen. From home screen to games to videos to internet anything you do with your phone it shows purplish reddish hue to parts that are suppose to be gray or dark gray or black. My phone screen is getting worst & worst everyday. The more I use it the more it is being damaged. If you are not an employee of Nokia or even a technician, do not tell to others to forget the defective screen & enjoy the purple world of N8. Because Nokia it self is telling to their customers to bring their defective Nokia phones to the nearest Nokia Care Center. Maybe your phones screen has slight purple only. But mine N8's screen, so horrible. I feel shy to play movie in my N8 or even just open & operate my N8 in front of my friends because the defect is so easy to recognize. So notorious. So obvious. You are not normal. Normal people like me can not accept to have an electronic device that is defective but you, you love defects. I think you have to check also your self to the Care Center. I mean in the hospital. Because your eyes say it is defective, but your brain says it is lovely no defect at all.

Sushil, 10 Mar 2011Will someone please suggest me which phone should I go for ... moreNokia C6 is symbian OS v9.4, not very good and 3.2 inches screen, E7 has 4.0 inch display it's a plus , but if you use SMS i don't know if the slider will resist to your every day use. Nokia N8 has a 3.5 inch screen, it's not bad, in landscape mode you use QWERTY keyboard, with small letters, but it has a very low rate of mistakes if compare with my old HTC Touch HD. But the decision is up to you. Nobody can say what phone will suit you best. You have to try them all.

Will someone please suggest me which phone should I go for N8 or E7 or C6.
My sms use is high so I am more attracted towards E7 or C6.
Budget does matter, still adjustable but product should be good.
                                  Please suggest?

                                    [deleted post]@Pre-historic.

I'm afraid you are quite wrong to suggest that Android is more advanced than Symbian.
I am fortunate enough to own both a Samsung Galaxy S and a Nokia N8, so I'm able to make a true comparison between the two.
First off then, when I'm in range of my home wifi network m N8 will automatically connect to it whenever I execute a web operation and automatically disconnect when I'm finished. Not so with the SGS. I have to manually turn on wifi when needed and manually turn it off when I'm finished.
Secondly, there is no " Mark all " functionality within the built in email application, so each email in the inbox has to be manually marked, one by one to be able to mass delete multiple emails. That can be very time consuming if you have a lot of emails to delete.
Thirdly, by default you cannot set your own personal sound file as a notification tone. you have to create a folder called notifications in the root folder and put your sound files in there to give that basic function.
Also, with the N8 when sending a file via bluetooth there is no need to manually turn on bluetooth. The phone does it for you, and then turns bluetooth off for you when the file is sent.
The menu system on the SGS is a joke. It's not possible to create custom folders to separate and categorize installed applications. So you end up with multiple screens full of applications in no particular order.
Lastly, the on screen keyboard is badly designed. Most of the major punctuation marks are not on the main keyboard but on the numeric one in landscape mode.
There are plenty of other aspects Android could be improved on, but I think that is enough to be going on for now.

                                    All the best.

                                    Ray
