Man, I was everywhere and anywhere back when I had a VGA cameraphone, but now that my New Year's resolution is 12 megapixels nothing is happening. :-) But sometimes I have a chance to snap around. Weather sucks here too, but at least there are clouds and swans in the river hissing at me. :-) Wish I could find a frog like that, but my dog would start chasing it. :-) Good scenes, good timing and good light! Funny cat with white eyes... Man, if someone could make "white eye reduction" software I would give them money! I can reduce human red eyes with the phone, with FastStone, with Photoshop, but if I take a photo of an animal with flash the only solution is to draw the pupils in the eyes with Photoshop. Yeah right.
Those "reflections" remind me of my midnight walks by the river and trying to get the lights on the other side. :-) Looks OK if I don't blow it up to 100%.
I think CameraPro takes photos just differently, but in some situations I like the extra functions. Like if it's a light thing on dark background I set exposure to "center" so the subject is correctly lit, with default camera I would have to adjust the exposure and it's too much tapping around. And taking a photo by tapping anywhere on the screen (good for self portraits). Also I created a few presets like "Lumia" (with boosted colors and saturation to get silly images like modern phones) and Moon (to take photos of the moon, obviously). Still looking for a chance to try and make a HDR with it (though I don't really like HDR). But mostly I use the default camera, just set the scene to Night if it's dark or Sport if something's running.
Heh, "dark rubbish" is for kids and people on drugs, I think. I like serious bands with some philosophy and attitude, most commercial ones take it as if it was a horror movie, just for fun. Never mind that now.
Alright! I see people who are crying for "Anna quality" and installing mods to have it back, sometimes ruining their phones. Whatever. Some say that focusing is different now, but maybe they are just too nostalgic to remember it was always like that. :-) Just tonight I found some old camera catalogs and flyers. Just imagine how much money and knowledge you needed to take a photo with a film camera, and hope that most of them turn out good. My father used to have a Kodak Instamatic, and although my N8 is no Nikon, for saving a few memories it's way way better than what we had in the old days. :-)

I got better in time, those are old, but now is a very ugly weather here and does not inspire me to much:)). Don't get me wrong, i ain't no profi... yeah, the hedgehogs all look alike, i don't like that picture to much, i have an close-up with the same 'hog and that's crazy stuff. I will upload some more close-ups and some extreme to. maybe the people say those are not extreme but so to say... that frog? was so small you could not see it only if you struggled. And it was staying on a leaf the size of an half a palm. The frog wasn't bigger then my big finger nail:). So, i call it extreme:)). I don't like camerapro to much, thaks some of the picture quality, i don't know, something is missing and the colors are not that natural. i've tested it allot, but it disappointed me every time when compared with the original pics, so i decided i will never install it again (after more then 10 installs and uninstalls), egal how many updates we're coming:). As for the musci, yeah. Punk-metal head. But i like more the spiritual stuff, with more meaning and without praising the dark rubbish.

BTW, i had Anna before, after was fp1 then came fp2. After some months belle came out to, so i installed it without looking back,(though, at the beginning i missed some important stuff). i had that feeling to, that belle does not take the same quality pics as anna, but... minding the fact that i had anna installed i had pictures taken with it, also random crappy ones made while i had nothing better to do. So after that paranoia coming to my mind i decided to take one of the random shuts from anna and to try to copy it's position as much as i can. I could not see the difference between them, and i tried...allot:). the only difference was the light coming from the sun. The sun was a bit in a different angle with belle so the pic came out with less vivid colors, but not something to complain, it could be seen clearly that that was from the light coming from a different angle and not from the camera. I remember i tried some more pics, but never could tell the difference between the two. At least i didn't... Anyway, take a look at my new uploads if interested. I haven't done this for a while, maybe i find some good stuff to upload...

Or "night" if it's dark.
Does the camera still have the same interface? I never had Anna, so just asking. Well, I'm sure more people would notice a camera downgrade than 3-4 people on forums. So just go on and enjoy yourself. Errr, parrots? I thought you had just one. :-)
As for vibration, I love it. Other phones feel like i'm tapping on something dead, especially iPhone feels squishy. That's just me, I guess. But it's awesome when I'm typing a message and the phone feels like a typewriter. :-)
No need to hurry, you can carry the N8 as it is for a while until it's all set up and ready to go.

As for close-ups, I do it the same way, but if I have more time I use CameraPro in a similar way as it has both a "focus" and a "shoot" button. So I can do it all by touch without shaking my phone too much. Though, I just ordered a new case which apparently has a bit better camera button area so I'll see how it is when it arrives.
Interesting taste in music, btw. ;-)

I think I'll start with the automatic shots first :D. I'll try with the mountains (hills to everybody else)when I go out walking this evening. Yeah! Let me see if I have to sob :-)). Thanks for the pointers. I only just restored my contacts this morning, so I'm really not moving too quickly on this...but at least I met my goal of upgrading before 2014, even though I just barely made it :-))).

To force shutdown Nokia e7 and other s^3 like nokia x7, maybe s^4 to, smarts you will need to keep the power button along with the menu button pressed for more then 8 sec. Only, then you will have the forced shutdown. So, we are lucky with the n8, a button less to press:))

I explored it for a short... moreThe vibrator you can deactivate from: settings/profiles/ tap on the profile you are using (you can do this to all profiles) ex:General profile. tap it the tap "personalise", scroll down enter touch screen vibration and turn it off. That is the 3'rd section from bottom.
As for macro shots, that is a bit complicated. First you will need to respect the rule and the limitation of the N8 sensor, that will be 15 cm, anything closer than that will not be clear. So if you want to shout close up shots (macro) you will need to: be at least 15 cm away from the object, to set the condition from auto to macro,(your phone will not shout macro when auto scene is selected). To select more scenes (in this case, macro scene) touch the middle button from the camera UI (default should be an A) there will pop more scenes, you will need to select the flower scene (close-up). Now let's go to very important stuff, and a very important movement is the camera button. For a macro to succeed you will need to use that button. The physical button has 2 levels. The first level you can feel quite easy when pressing and that level is made for focusing (shooting without focusing will give you nothing but blur) So, focusing is very important in every scene, and that is why the physical button is very important to. You cannot do this with the touch button from the screen. So, first level of pressing will focus on the target, the second level of pressing(deeper pressing) will take the shout. Now the last and the very important thing to end up with a great focused photo it is the indicator that tells you if the object is in focus or out of focus. That indicator appears only when pressing the physical button to the firs level. On screen right in the middle will appear some kind of square (more like for corners that could complete a square) if that turns red, the object is out of focus. If that turns green, then there you have the green light to take the shot, so now all you have to to is to press the button deeper (to it's second level) and the shot will be taken. A trick of mine is the zoom. Yeah, in macro shots i use zoom allot. Cause we cannot not get extremely close to the object, we can bring the object extremely close to us by zooming. The n8 does not have 3x lossless zoom for nothing. while in normal shots there will be some quality taken out from the pic, in macro shots that lack of quality is pretty much unseen by the human eye. Of course, it also matters how close you are from the object. Another tip: you cannot shout objects 1 meter apart from your device in close-up scene. So, you will always have to use scenes for pictures to come great, also, you will need to respect the sensor limitations and to always pay attention to the indicator. If something is wrong the indicator will always be red. Another tip: the n8 has a problem focusing in the dark, even though it has the focus assistant (the red led) apparently is not good enough for the camera sensor. More then this info can give you only an professional photographer:)). search the net for more info about how to take good quality pics:).

Ooh-la-la! Belle is sooo sweeeet! I explored it for a short while and yes, the UI is better. Only thing is that every time I tap an icon I get a little vibration. I didn't get that with Anna. Maybe there is something that will allow me to disable it. I'll check that some other time. The camera seems the same to me (that was my big fear). I still have to check that by actually taking out a photo. I only focused on my parrots and it looked the same to me. I don't think I'll end up sobbing. Ha!
