If Symbian uses 1ghz surely it will run, then N8 price becomes more expensive, 1ghz is unnecessary speed if it can run in just 680mhz. Nokia cares for its buyers, Nokia thinks also the products with an affordable prices. Unlike apple iphone 4 its all about money. Competition is not just hardware & software features, but affordable price as well. These how Nokia makes their consumers happy.

Samsung galaxy S should give thanks to Nokia N8, because Nokia N8 didnt use 1ghz cpu & didnt use Android, otherwise the cycle of business is finished, all money goes to Nokia, do you think Nokia cannot produce a 1ghz cpu or more? Do you think Nokia can not use Android? Nokia just want competition. Because of competition everything becomes better & better. Symbian as of now is of its fundamental age, the time will come Symbian will become as master or as strong or even stronger than Android. Its a challenge for Symbian! If Nokia uses Android, no more choices to choose from, just a competition of hardware features. But good thing Symbian tries to fight. Symbian is the only left competitor of Android. Wait Android till the next punch of Symbian.

Nokia is not idiot! idiot is the one who believes 1ghz cpu will make ur phone faster, Again & again & again, Symbian doesnt need 1ghz to run, Android needs 1ghz to run. Its like Windows Vista needs 4GB RAM/ROM or more to run, but Windows 7 will run even to your very old computer. 680mhz is good enough for Symbian.

Horrible device. Ive had it for about 2 months now.
Only 2 good things about it. The FM transmitter and of course the camera (truly does live up to the hype, Excellent camera)other then that, its simply the worst phone I have ever used. (yes its a genuine device, Ive checked several times because I could believe how bad this device is) it's call quality is ok, its never dropped a call for me. The MMS is horrible, gets stuck in the outbox every time without fail. If god forbid I have to restart the device you can bet your first born child that the screen saver wont work and the screen remains lit the entire day and will suck up your entire battery in a couple of hours. You have to hard restart the phone several times to fix the problem. Bad browser, bad UI and bad support. its been 3 months, and we've been getting stupid minor updates that do nothing.
I miss my Nokia N900 to death and would switch back in a heart beat if Nokia didn't abandon Meamo users. Which they will now screw me over by shifting over to Windows 7 and leave symbain to die.
All in all the worst smart phone I've used. I refuse to switch to the iPhone, but I guess the Android is the way to go now.
Trust me. People who are on the border to buy this phone. Dont. Save your hard earned money. The Galaxy S2 looks cool.

Lots of problems with this phone. It's fast becoming the N97 of 2010.
There are quite a number of decent cam phones coming up, so if you want to happy pic snapper, you can wait for those.

can someone tell me how s the battery life of this phone in normal use and also when 3g services r used,as the similar model of N8, which is e7 the comments there show an very low battery life is it true.

Has anyone check some QT ui demo video on N8,with only 680mhz N8 run very smooth..and the upcoming update will give new and faster ui and also new browser with flash 10(hopefully).

You should be fine then.

GREAT PHONE ! Incredible camera wth real flash. Good battery, an really fast, Android needs an 1 GHz CPU, Symbian does not.
N8 can act as an USB server, which is not stated in the specs on GSMarena. Great feature if you have to exchange files with professional contacts. And you can access the Nokia maps offline, which is far cheaper than downloading Google maps. In summary the best "bang for the buck".

This phone is really nice, iv'e been using this phone primarily for music and taking picture. i guess no phone is perfect even samsung galaxy s and iphone does have flaws.
picture quality of this phone is comparable to my digicam sony.

Anonymous, 22 Feb 2011if you want another nokia that will freeze and turn itself ... morei seriously doubt your comment. for the n8 has 680 mhz processor. not unless you have 25 applications open then the phone will seriously hang. but 680 mhz can handle up to 20 running applications... before you make a comment make sure that you actually know what you're talking about. do you even know the capacity of each mobile phone processor? i doubt... have a nice day!
