As a Nokia fan I've done my research before buying it.
After about 4 months of usage here's my opinion.
Pros:
Hardware is simply astonishing. Battery life is great. Camera is superb. HDMI output is definitely a plus. I like the FM transmitter too. Flash compatibility gives it an advantage over the iPhone. Lifetime GPS. My friends have iPhones and Android phone and I always have reception where they don't. Never had a "failed" call or any other dropped call which apple gets.
Cons.
SOFTWARE! Seems like Nokia rushed through the software. There are many bugs with it. The main issue i have is that sometimes the screen will stay on after i lock it, which drains the battery.
The internet browser is just horrible.
GPS takes a long time to load, about 5 minutes to determine my position and the search function doesn't work, I have to navigate the map and select a point on a map where i want to go, it won't take addresses.
Other bugs include jumping to the music player when you hit send an text message. Altogether the sofware comes across as boring and unfinished.
Bottom line is that this phone is a gear deal. If you can deal with the shortfalls of the software the hardware will never fail you. I just wish it had Android software.

I sold my N8 coz of issues i was facing with n got my self a new sony ericsson xeperia x10 android eclair 2.1 update which is dam cool and also the interface and graphics and resolution of this phone is too good.
m not saying N8 was bad, it just have got loads of features but most of them were not of my use, i wanted a phone that can have good looks and good interface and graphics which symbian lacks... also music is good in SE as compared to n8, screen resolution of N8 is of poor quality and after few days of use i got very bored with it and was looking for a good change which i got...
Then we have android market which has millians of usefull apps wich ovi lack again... trust me guys you will like n8 for few days and after that you will not even like to check it... it time for andriod...go as per time flow and not againts it... go with andriod thats the future

best at what?at features i dont believe so..at design?not really..but the camera is the best ive seen on a phone..

It is the best phone in terms of camera ONLY !!!! did you ever saw nokia n8 !!! no ...life time free gps ... music is Better then your al android fan ...hdmi ... nokia phones easy to buy .... not like htc lg moto ...

Nokia N8 is the best

Im Proud To Be owner of Nokia N8 color orange Since December 1, 2010 almost a month of using withouth any issue,No hang,No laggy, Its really smooth responsive, This Phone is Amazing why?

Its awesome ive never encountered any hang and laggy on my device even my memory card and built memory is fully loaded my phone is really work fast and smooth responsive.

->N8 it has Hdmi.
->N8 it has free lifetime GPS.
->N8 it has 12MP withb xenon flash
Its awesome spec and features 100% perfect.

->My battery life is 3-5days with minimal use(Text,call,Music)

Its Awesome its really work fine for heavy used.

Hi Everyone,
Well, i m here to share my experience with Nokia N8.
In one world i can say its simply "Awesome"
I m the proud owner of Nokia N8 which is presented by the mobile technology leader i.e. "Nokia".
This is great multimedia device which i ever use.
Earlier i had Nokia N70 Music Edition, Nokia N82, Nokia N86 and now Nokia N8.
I must say Nokia N8 Rocks!
So guys, just grab it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the video and photo resolution is the best, the memory size is big enough to download movies , connect with any usb direct without computer need, the office software need to buy, sometimes software runing slowly,in global the software are limited comparing with iphone , no flash runing with video camera.

Loving the N8 more each day.....i cant think of a day without it....my movies, my music..my digi cam...my live widgets wic shows me..my stocks live,my symbian and mobile news live..cricket scores live.....weather live...and how can i forget the wonderful HD games....i can go on and on...we all nokia abt nokia fones built quality..and battery wic last whole day....Nokia rocks and N8...

Sam, 19 Feb 2011I bought n8 yesterday, Every features of that handset satis... moreThat is not normal, did you give it an initial charge? could be one of the reasons your battery is weak.. you could take it back and they should have it sorted for you..
