All the new N8s have the purple screen problem. in the default theme, lock your phone and press the menu button to see the analog clock. if the upper half of the clock shows red/purple then your display is defective.
last week I went to nokia shop and found 3 N8s have the problem. store manager said he was unaware about the issue. I showed him the dailymobile.se and allaboutsymbian article.

Dear friends,
SO many people complains that N8 will no longer a good phone as Symbian support from Nokia is going to stop soon... What a Bullsh*t...! Who believes these rumors...? I mean anybody who has got common sense will surely understand that 'Nokia will adopt Win7 but will not leave Symbian like that...'
Did you guys every think why would nokia do something stupid like that...? (Adopting Win7 is already stupid enough though...!)
It's Symbian which has helped to gain the Nokia... And still it's the mostly used smart phone OS out there... (40% of smart OS usage) So if Nokia is smart, why would they dump Symbian like that...? (If Android or Apple fan boys think and say like that on N8 forums, just to make us upset...! Ha ha...)
But, I still would say, Symbian^3 has to be improved drastically.. I repeat 'drastically'... Nokia must working on that while adopting whatever Win7 or whatever sh*t.. Because to be frank in so many ways, apple i-OS and android are ahead of Symbian... But still, Symbian is the most powerful, efficient and potential-ed mobile OS out there... Only problem is, it has not been developed the way Android or Apple is being developed... If Google or Apple took care of Symbian instead of Nokia, then Symbian must have gone so far than this...!

Wew, Nokia N8 again dropped its daily interest lower to new phones! When will it last? a week? two weeks? Why is it when new phones come, it tops the Nokia N8, then after a wek or two, it will become top again.
Nokia N8 is the best phone in the market today!

Anonymous, 15 Feb 2011do u guys know anything about the n9?yes theres n9 and n9-01 with mego one of them gonna release soon. And can have 1.2-1.6 ghz intel atom processor , 512mb-1 gb ram and betn 4.0 to 4.3 inch screen. Qestion is , is mego camparable with android. Nokia is fool. Android can increase their power. Symbian is also good. And i hav their never ised wp7 so cant predict about it.

LCD is disappointing! try the midnight silver themes, and create new msg.. everytime you type, u can see that the backlight flicks a bit.. but overall performance, its good.. just the LCD
