I've updated the software on my N8 to PR1.1 but I still can't get push email using Nokia Messaging, I can set up my Gmail account but it will only pull emails.
I Still think there is a problem with Nokia Messaging.

I agree, Elop has potentially ruined Nokia.
However, updates will still be provided for the N8 for at least 12 to 18 months. But thats all. Sadly, new applications and games will be few and far between.
For me though, I'm still happy with my N8 for it's camera, free Sat Nav, excellent video playback capabilities and Nokias internet radio app.

      All the best.

However, i... more@ ray yes my friend feeling very bad that phone like n8 did'nt know that this will happen to n8 now i think so its no sense of buying n8 if any user wants only for camera,hdmi,usb-otg,and some hd games , music and want to see movie and want only fair web browsing thats only features r still left for this set but no more applications.elop is so stupid if he adopted wp7 its ok but he should'nt cancel symbian after knowing that n8 has just launched now and for atleast 1 year he should provide updates..this year nokia is gone down very down and i think so no one will buy e-7 too....

However, it may be possible for developers to port applications and games over to WP7 when the new handsets arrive in 2012.
But for the N8, it's not looking good unless Symbian is given to the open source community to develop and work on. Then the N8 might have a bit more life left in it.

            Cheers.

chester, 14 Feb 2011Yaeh it's all politics at Nokia now. Elop is a major sha... moreNokia Ceo Elop to buy Nokia shares ASAP, to divest Microsoft shares soon

Quite a few of you have tipped us the link (directly or indirectly through post comments) about Stephen Elop being the 7th biggest share holder at Microsoft, whilst holding NO/ZERO/0 stocks at Nokia. This fired up a lot of suspicions that Elop had masterminded some kind of take-over of Nokia by MS, with Nokia effectively being under MS’ thumb as he seemed to stand to gain a lot from it from his previous employer.

Finnish site, YLE (TOP 10 Site in Finland, not just some random site) claims however that the reason Elop has no shares in Nokia is because of the “terms of security trading regulations” that had prevented him from acquiring Nokia shares due to “insider trading”. Further more, whilst Elop did have significant shares at Microsoft, he began divesting this when he had left the company and sold as much as 60% of it before moving to Nokia.

Elop will apparently divest ALL of his Microsoft shares as soon as restrictions/rules allow, and likewise, purchase Nokia stock when legally able to.

anonymous phils, 14 Feb 2011hello, im planning to buy a mobile this week... and i dont ... more The N8 is a great phone but Nokia are going down the plug hole, so I wouldn't advise you to get the N8 because Symbian is being killed off. The effect of that is, there will not be many new apps written for the N8 because software developers won;t see the point in writing apps for a soon to be dead OS.

                        Cheers.

Unfortunately, not all product codes have made it onto the servers yet. But Nokia have promised to get all the updates available for everyone this week, beginning today.
If you post your product code here, I will check to see if it is on the servers yet.
It's also a good idea to use Nokia Software updater on the pc to check for updates.
