if you're so annoyed with the discoloration issue on your phone, choose a darker theme. you will no longer see it.

The best way to spot a broken screen, broken screen is how you call an AMOLED screen that shows dark grey gradients as purpleish/reddish, is to install an app called QTorch. Open the app and notice the background around QTorch logo. In a broken screen, it will show a purpleish/reddish color instead of dark grey which is its actual color. Another way is to open your Music player in landscape mode. Notice the coverflow. In a broken screen, the reflection under the coverflow shows a purple tint instead of dark grey. Midnight themes, instead of dark grey softkeys it shows a purple tint. You should also set your brightness to the default mid brightness level.

Vicehybrid, 08 Feb 2011got my N8 on Saturday then 2 days after boooom PR1.1 waitin... moreI hope pr 1.2 reddish purple will solve, I luv my n8 since date I purchase it, but im worried my n8 color dsplay its lokk worst I mean instead of dark gray or black the color will look reddish purple. I will go nokia care this week I hope will fix this. :-(

Hi,
My Name is Karthikeyan M.
I am in a very grieving situation.
I dropped my N8 phone in water just slipped from pocket in washtub for about 2 sec.I took the phone dried it off and then tok the phone to nokia care.
They kept it for one day and said that the motherboard got shorted and thats it,nothing can be done except give the phone for spare parts.
I am ver very upset.
What is this? there is not even a chance of changing the motherboard? They said nokia wont provide motherboard.Is it true?
What can i Do?
If any nokia guy is seeing this pls help me out
I loved N8 so much its so good.I want it back.Its more than a phone to me.
pls suggest me ur ideas.

Im facing that problem and im worried because some color will affect that reddish color like true spider themes, qtorch, midnight silver, also when you press menu and option you can see the reddish color will upper the outbox of menu, even movie film dark gray will become reddish its look worst for me, But im so happy for New firmware yesteday bacause my default browser its really smooth fast loading,

Hey friends, after updating 1.1 my photos and videos are there in mass memory and in memory card but its not there in videos and photos in root folder its shows no images and videos ! Pls help me Wat should i do now ? Is any 1 facing the same prob ?
