guys when u will understand symbian os is very light os it does'nt need 1ghz processor but 512 mb ram would make this handset a rhino handset haha..but i think so nokia have done a small or i will say big mistake of not giving user battery replacement..bcoz suppose imagine travelling far away and you need to put a replacement battery because there is no place for charging only to find that the nearest Nokia service center is about 3000 miles away????? otherwise this handset is amazing

Supratim, 28 Jan 2011Still 680 MHz, what a joke by Nokia!yeah still 680mhz after 3 months on the market and over a year after conception? Why doesn't nokia made a hardware that automatically updates it's processor depending on what's latest? Some are already releasing dual cores and the n8, after being in the market for months, is still using 680mhz-clocked arm11, Wut? Lol

    (sarcasm)

But even though, the best of nokia n8s produced, not those defective ones, are all running smooth. As my fellow filipino said. ;-)

That's enough to keep me believing in whatever nokia is up on it's sleeve during this year's MWC. Though i'm more likely to shift brand if n9 becomes too late.

Looks like a good phone with heaps to offer. Only downside is the processor, anything under 800mhz these days is seen as low. Most smart phones boast 1ghz processor.

trgvictg, 28 Jan 2011it's a bit laggy when browsing web ,especially while using ... moreRAM is plenty, its the processor, again, as always with N8. Plus ovi maps, its not efficient. Slow and unresponsive maps on N900 was one of my main reasons to change to HTC/android, but then i have to add that ovi maps for maemo5 is not the same as for symbian, N900 has much more powerful processor than N8 but is still slower on maps. They are Slow and Slower.

I am just on a hunt for something which can beat N900 in every aspects and can be my most wonderful gadget to carry along.I am looking at a great camera, large screen with high resolutions, speed, battery efficiency which enables phone to be functional for 3 full days. Great multimedia which enables you to watch HD movies on the go because I travel a lot. Highly efficent GPS connectivity, super fast internet browser, large storage space capability, Rom must be atleat 512 MB for future upgrade, tons of usefull freeware available for download and last but not the least stable OS. Is it too much to ask for on a $ 500 to $ 700 gadget. I am on hunt and I am sure Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and LG are working hard on it too. Cheers...

it's a bit laggy when browsing web ,especially while using pinch to zoom. Also the same thing happens while using gps-showing checkerboard pattern. Not a smooth phone.I think a bit of RAM will do that stuff.May be 384 mb instead of 256 as on the wildfire will be better.
