trgvictg, 28 Jan 2011it's a bit laggy when browsing web ,especially while using ... moreRAM is plenty, its the processor, again, as always with N8. Plus ovi maps, its not efficient. Slow and unresponsive maps on N900 was one of my main reasons to change to HTC/android, but then i have to add that ovi maps for maemo5 is not the same as for symbian, N900 has much more powerful processor than N8 but is still slower on maps. They are Slow and Slower.

Anonymous, 28 Jan 2011not responsive, very slow and laggy.when 1or2applications r... moreand what did u expect from an Arm11 processor? it was known for months before the launch that it would be slow, the specs where public and then it should not surprise you that i doesnt perform well. It has "performance" as expected, if it can be called performance. Lack of it is more accurate.

Frank, 28 Jan 2011@Rajsh For wht purpose u need a phne actually or wht u n... moreN900 fully catters to my basic and conventional needs. I am just on a hunt for something which can beat N900 in every aspects and can be my most wonderful gadget to carry along.I am looking at a great camera, large screen with high resolutions, speed, battery efficiency which enables phone to be functional for 3 full days. Great multimedia which enables you to watch HD movies on the go because I travel a lot. Highly efficent GPS connectivity, super fast internet browser, large storage space capability, Rom must be atleat 512 MB for future upgrade, tons of usefull freeware available for download and last but not the least stable OS. Is it too much to ask for on a $ 500 to $ 700 gadget. I am on hunt and I am sure Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and LG are working hard on it too. Cheers...

it's a bit laggy when browsing web ,especially while using pinch to zoom. Also the same thing happens while using gps-showing checkerboard pattern. Not a smooth phone.I think a bit of RAM will do that stuff.May be 384 mb instead of 256 as on the wildfire will be better.

N8 is currently the best mobile device out now. Anyone who'll disagree is in denial. USB OTG is so important to me as I don't use my N8 in downloading large files, I use my old N82 for that and just transfer the files directly to my N8 via USB OTG. Sometimes I don't need to transfer files to view it, I just connect the other device to my N8 and watch the movie stored on the other device to my N8. Putting a 1GHz processor on this phone would be an overkill as N8 already struggles to stay alive with a 1200mAh cell. That's the biggest con of the device. 680MHz is just fine because most of the tasks are performed by the GPU not by ARM processor. As for the operating system, Symbian is a fully functional and efficient OS only lagging behind in terms of eyecandy user interface. Symbian can do a thousand things both Android and iOS can't do so I'll take the functionality over the fancy UI.

any n8 owner, i got a question, my n8 sometimes not very responsive when running games or apps, need to tap twice or more.does using screen protector make the touchscreen less responsive? or is it because of the software itself? or is it weakness of symbian 3?
