Been using n80 for 3 months WITH the latest firmware and the problems i met:
*Sometimes auto reset when i make a call
*phone gets slower everytime i use
*couldn't send lots of message at a time
*slider is getting losen
*Lcd displays blank when i slide up and locks the phone.... (Main Stupid point)
Taken to nokia care for repair.. going switch to N73ME after i got back this phone. regret buying this stupid device!! Maybe the N80IE will have the same problem..

I am a fan of Nokia.Nokia must know that the phones released are great, but many of them are too slow! And they get stuck. The sms take 2 or 3 min to get out.Sometimes more..I bought a Nokia 3250,It was a very attractive cell, really.Every feature worked perfectly, the nusic, camera. But the sms was terribly slow! The store changed the phone several times and It happened the same again and again....Nokia must prove and try and check all the models before they get released.Ricardo from Mexico

to robert,,have had my n80 8 months now and it came like you say with the top bit wobbly & has not worsened in anyway in the 8 months..its just the way it is and was like that as it runs not on bearings or anything so if it was tight it would wear away its slider & eventually the devie would be in 2 parts

This phone is good for the first few months, after that, the slide becomes loose and the speaker doesn't work when the phone is open. The phone is also really slow, sending messages takes forever! The phone is huge compared to some on the market at the moment. Sadly, I can't wait until I am allowed to upgrade!

Very basic/minor question - is it possible to set this phone so that when you turn it on, you don't hear that "Nokia Sound"? I have tried to do this on my hubby's N70 but cant work out how to do it. It REALLY annoys me!! Thanks!

The worst phone, worst software design and worst slider I have ever had the misfortune to buy. The slider works like it was made in a chinese factory with 4th world equipment (sticky, scratchy). The text display is so small, only kids can read it. And then the system has no way to user-define the display font size. An instruction manual which is so poorly written, I don't know which is worse, it or the software design. Almost nothing on this phone works without hours of experimenting... nothing is logically set up. I was about to buy another Nokia, the N95. Now I know what to expect, and of course, I will not buy another Nokia. Even the software upgrade system does not work. How can people sell such a phone and get away with it?

After considering for few weeks, finally I got this phone! Although it is not the latest WLAN phone, comparing with Nokia E Series E65 and E70, I prefer to have more entertainment features like radio and front camera for more convenient video calls.
I have bought the N80 - Internet Edition and with the latest firmware version.
Here with the unboxing video clips, my video in youtube for sharing~

Despite putting a SIM the N80 handset does not log on to network even though the location has full range and coverage. If a call is dialled into the number, the system replies 'the no.is not reachable' whereas if you put the same sim in a different handset it works. It also does not show the signal strength as is the case with every other set.
Will someone tell me what's the problem with the N80 phone?
