Yes you can surf/download using the inbuilt wi-fi.It's nothing new on a smartphone though!Also you would have to be within 10 metres of your router.The n80's screen is small and the battery life poor.Wouldn't it be better to use your laptop?

is it with wi-fi function i can connect into my Linksys Wireless Broadband router and surf the internet for free?

i can tell you guys its really slow like a turtle.. it can even beat a w800 in terms of sms and looking for a contact in the phonebook.. which i believe the most important thing on a phone.. communication..want a good cam? then get a good sony digicam, video? get a dvcam.. simple as that..

hmm my opinion about the n80 is...it is simply an amazing peice of technology...what makes me mad is...the battery life...it dies pretty quick..and sometimes without u knowing...thats why i carry an extra battery..i use all the functions and it has a sleek design to it...the slider is alrite...but if it was spring assisted then it would be a different story because...dependin on how powerful the spring action is....it might be powerful enough to knock the phone out of your hands...i had this experience with the Motorola Pebbie...over all it has a lot of functions and i would never trade away my n80 unless if its for a n95...hahaa

behrang n80 have 352x416 pixels and 35x41 screen size. the n73 is bigger 240x320 pixels bt 36x48 screen size.before i think the same that is 352x416 so is bigger than the n73 when i saw n73 screen is much bigger and is 2.4 inches n80 is 2.0 inches and the 2 phones is 3.2 megapixel bt n73 carl zeiss optics with lens cover autofocus and bla bla and the slide is moving no good i haved n80 bt now i have n73 and for wifi i have the psp and the pc SO? THE N73 HAVE a lot more than n80

I owned the latest version of the N80 (internet ed) and used it for more than 3 months. I agree the phone is superior to almost all phones BUT, I eventually had to replace it with the N73 and with no regrets really. Why?
1. The battery life of the N80 is appalling, specially with all the features it has at it's disposal.
2. Even with the latest software the UI is still painfully SLOW.
2. The camera has no lens cover.
3. The slider mechanism feels loose after a few weeks of use. I sent mine to Nokia to have it tightened and it worked but you could feel the slider slowly loosen again after a few weeks. Good thing the N95 will have a spring mechanism (don't know why the N80 wasn't designed witha spring when the lower end 5300 has one?).
4. The faceplate and keypad isn't user interchangeable (unless you unscrew a few parts). This is important because I don't like using crystal cases/ silicone cases and at the same time I also hate to see scratches - so i need to change the front housing after a while. I had a 2-layer Gmask put onto my phone, which cost me more than 40.00USD but it started to degrade immediately because of the sliding nature of the N80, which caused the taped edges of the Gmask to slowly peel off after a while.
My N73 doesn't have wifi and it's screen is not as good as the N80 (not by much)but at least i don't have to charge it all the time . There are days when i miss my N80, and sometimes i feel like I downgraded but in the end I believe my choice of switching to the more practical, reliable, and easy to use N73 was worth it.

hi umm dave try taken it off of 3g becasue it will keep tryin to look for a network and that kills your battary life

the search is over... after one Nokia 6670 and 1 slider T629 this is the ultimate phone for me. It has everything you need, and nothing you dont. My advice, do yourself a favor, stop searching and start saving for this phone. Purchase one of these and never look back. This is a SWISS ARMY KNIFE OF PHONES. THE BEST OF THE BEST.

Everyone is complaining bout the S60 OS its not that bad true its slower and can freeze sometimes but it can do so much more !!
On topic i just picked up my N80 a month ago (from HK) and its ok (not a dodgy one)i have put it up against my mates N73's and it seems from a few tests that the picture quality is better on my N80 !! im not sure why because the carl zenis is suppose to be superior but i had the pics to prove.
ALL IN ALL N80 is a good fone battery life aint as good as my nokia 3250 but thats cuz i hav WiFi+Bluetooth on 24/7 !!
OH AND CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHERE I CAN GET THAT TALKING DICTIONARY THAT CAME ON THE STOCK MEMORY CARD I BOUGHT A 2GB card and eraze the old one if some has a link or can email it to me much appriciated

Any smartphone running symbian os cannot be top of the pile!The whole os is a mess and has been constucted from back to front.N80 is comfortaby top of the pile when it comes to faulty handsets.To all Nokia lovers-keep believing the hype!Lmao

This phone is great. All the update features, excellent wi-fi capabilities and the features are amazing.
Only thing I want to know is whether there are ways to upgrade the actual features, such as the wi-fi speed, the bluetooth version from 1.2 to 2.0 and the various other features...If anyone can help, please do as it would be much appreiciated

Permit to make something clear first.Many have been bad mouthing Nokia phones but understand one thing when you post do mention where you bought your phone i.e country.This plays a big role believe me.I would also suggest to never buy over the internet too because they will ship you anything.Internet companies put accent on selling defective units to people and take their chances.If you want a phone that is only cool and will not do anything else with it then they win but if you manages to work your phone as it was made to work(using the wifi and so on) then you see all the defects hence many of the problems many are facing here.They just change the unit if they care about their reputation.

i just bought this n80. i have a problem. this phone has a camera of 3 megapixel. but my n70 gives me more clear and good quality pictures and videos (n70 has 2 megapixel camera). why is that ?. i took pictures and vides with high quality settings but still it does not offer a good quality picture and vedio. why i that?.

yours is ....42 at the end.
ask your Nokia branch if they can install the .41 firmware because its working fine on me and no problem. ive been using that firmware for i think almost 3months now

my nokia has firmware V 4.0623.0.42 and i'm having a lot of probelms with it, cant install ANYTHING on the phone.... this is the newest firmware available (told to me by the Nokia Branch where i live)
is there a way to rollback the installation to an older version where it worked fine?
