This is a great phone but the only downside of this is the PRICE...

It costs about $650

If you buy a Nokia 6230i- $about 300
an MP3 Player- about $150
and a Digital Camera- about $250
it costs $700!!!

I'd rather buy separately instead of buying a COMPACT one...

It'll last longer and would be more efficient. Pics will be much clearer, music will last longer ang texting will be easy...

The only problem is that of the space... you can just have separate pockets for each of them... Trust me, they'll live longer like this...

HaHa to xxxx. ur comment against the N80 sux - not the phone ! This is truly, madly, deeply the best phone (King) of all mobiles ! I am quite a phone fanatic and i'm very 'updated' wit da l8tst technology. N80 has evrytng u need on a mobile phone - & more ! & this being all of the BEST. & the size of da N80 staying rather small, nd not as big as sum ppl state - Pity if u don't know ur phone !

Hey guys ! Had this fone for 2 months and the p990 for 3 weeks . No doubt n80 scores at softwares . Its much easier to use as its symbian . Music is suuuuperb. N 91 like . Whereas p 990 has better applications but no edge means no NEAA .camera in sony is better even though not 3mp , because of auto focus . But it hardly matters . There is no fone in the world which has a richer screen than n80. Believe me its kinda PLASMA of mobils . Post ur Q 's here . I'll giv u mor info shortly.

I just bought a 1 GB card for the N80 but the phone doesnt read it. I tried the memory card in a E61 and E62 (north american version of the E61) and it works fine in both.I only paid $30 shipped for it so no biggy but im thinking of going to an elctronics store and going through 1GB cards till one works even if i do have to pay the ridiculously marked up price for it.
Im thinking of upgrading the firmware and see what happens but i dont think the firmware is the problem (im currentky running V3.0617.06)

              Any insight would be appreciated
              Thanks

                @6Dax
Please share us,what's your opinion? Because you have ever used N80 and SE P990i.
How are the comparisons, about battery life, camera, sound, office application functionality, signal and response (which one is faster)?
                Thanks very much.

MAJOR Drawback, I called Nokia's call centre to help me out updating the firmware, and they were unable to help me, simly because the N80 is not and will not be sold in Canada. and the only way to get my phone updated, is to ship back to the origin (point of sale)Hong Kong, at that time, they will be able to fix it!!!!

Why dont they have a link on their website to update firmwares just like Sony Ericsson???? Im turning my back on nokia, and going to get the almighty SE P990I

For those N80 users who are complaining about low signal/coverage and poor battery life here are my suggestions:

                            Go to
                            Tools>Settings>Network>Network mode>
*if you choose Dual mode - your phone will look for 2 diff types of signal (either 3G or GSM) so that means this mode gives you more signal and lesser battery life (it drains your battery coz its looking for 2 diff signals)
*if you choose GSM - your phone will only look for GSM but the signal will still be strong coz GSM has wider range and it doesnt suck the life out of your battery
*if you choose 3G - your phone will only look for 3G but the signal wont be that good coz 3G is still considered new technology and at the same time it tends to eat up more battery life compared to GSM.

Hope this helps. If you have any questions just email me.

it's just toooooo many 'opinions' posted here so i'm breaking the rule sayin 'Read before you post. Search before you post. There is a big chance that your question is already answered' and i didn't ask anything anyway but i'm sure some of the N80 owners wonder how to use the WLAN thing - u need to configure ur pc for that and here's what u need >>> http://www.few.vu.nl/itg/?p=services-504&m=1,12 Good luck!

ok so UPnP stands for Universal Plug and Play. It's a..let's say...complex technology :D It's used for data transfer and similar stuff....really i think u'd better try browsin one of their sites cuz I'm not really sure either and their explanations r much more accurate. however if u have UPnP compatible devices such as printers, TVs, and maaany others, ur phone works as a remote control. now how cool is that?:) ur N80 accesses the 'digital house' - i mean ur PC, TV, whateva..u got the point! PLUS u can for example listen to the music storred on ur N80 directly on ur home stereo player, through UPnP!:) cyaaa!

ok this fone rulz it's full of features but unfortunately a bit heavy and bricky, not rili appropriate for a gurl but at least our fingers are smaller so the 'first row' issue is not our problem :) it's really awesome and i think it's worth buyin. carl zeiss is indeed a big name but people who own nokia phones with this new carl zeiss optics thing are now rather disappointed because of the amount of money they had to pay for their N93 for example and the fact that there's no substantive difference in the photos they take! :( yep....sad!

The N80 does have quite a short battery life. At the end of a day with frequent use the battery will have gone right done.

But on the plus side it only takes up to an hour to fully charge - I guess thats because the battery's so small!

Anywho, can be annoying but it's not a major disadvantage (for me anyway)
