To All N80 phone holders!! I have this phone for one month + now and take my word that the following improvements are worth considering.
First of all, I was a bit frustrated with the slow functionality of the operating system and the menus. Second the device crashed almost everyday (only 80MB used on the memory card). Third, the slider was a bit wobbly and the battery cover was squicking.
1) Upgraded to a 1GB memory Card and the speed of the OS and menus has doubled . The daily crashes are now history.
Total Cost 35 Pounds
2) Purchased a black duck tape and placed it on the back of the phone with the slider open (No one has ever noticed don't worry). This increased the friction of the slider mechanism, having an end result a more strong slider mechanism (like the samsung D600 phone). Applied also inside the battery compartment and the cover does not squick anymore.
Total Cost 50p
The next move is to update the firmware to a newest version when available from the Nokia Stores.

any suggest, i have plan to buy this nokia model N-80 from usa is this phone capable to use in the philippines. i've doubt because the networks is different.

hi trisha! im from pampanga... if you read recent posts, you'll find that i have asked the same question. and i always get the same answer. format the phone memory! so i did. take it to your dealer and let them do it. don't forget to backup your phone memory. it only takes around 10 mins.

any pinoys here? i got a problem. everytime i send a text messgae, it freezes and takes about a minute or two to send it. how can i fix this? please help...

can someone please assist with pointers on how to trf my contacts from my ericsson t610 to my n80 via bluetooth or ir. the phones do see each other and a msg is received by the n80 but i don't know what to do next. thx a lot, darren_t

Yes the N80 supports stereo support bluetooth
try out the motorola stereo headset its unreal

TELSTRA IS GIVING THESE THINGS AWAY ON $60 PLANS!!!!! WITH NO ADDITIONAL HANDSET FEE'S.
Spoke to a nokia rep today was told the stainless finish is only aval to telstra and the other networks will not be able to get these for another 6 weeks
My suggestion run to your closest Telstra dealer and grab it

anyone having probs installing the software from the provided cdrom? ive tried 4 different pc's with 2 different cdrom's now and nothing it always errors of freezes the system

got it last night and damn its a good phone.
its taking a little bit to get used to. my last 3 phones have been sony ericssons.
Have found when going into different things it is a bit slow, eg text message, contacts. but its not too bad.
Still playing around with it though and trying to work out how to put music in folders on the memory card.
btw it does vibrate and ring if you turn that option on.

Just got this phone a few days ago. So far it's been wonderful. It's very rich in features and functionality and the top row keys on the numeric keypad or not difficult to reach at all. The OS is a little slow at times when you are trying to quickly go between different screens. I have had some difficulty setting up a connection to my home wireless LAN, the manual and help files don't provide a simple step by step process. Other than that, this phone is fantastic

hey gabb.. i am experiencing the same problem.. this started after synchronizing my n80 with my laptop.. i think there's a bug in the OS that needs to be corrected..
unfortunately there's is no patch available yet..
