i would dare to say people don't care much about battery life... if then the razr v3 would never sell 50 millions. as they did. which lesser features and high prices than any phone around

      nokia sonyericsson samsung motorola
      four big brand mobile producer

      personally, i have used lots of phone, as nokia N80, 8800, 8910, 8850, 8310, 6600, 6230
      sonyericsson P900, T68, K700, W800....
      samsuang D500, D600....
      motorola V50, V60, V70, V3

      compare:
nokia: best technics, longer lifetime, as 8800 last over 3-5 years, pool battery

sonyericsson: pool technics and screen AS w800, short life time, less than a year, best for kids, but best battery peformance. like toy

samsung: very good technics and screen, life time okey, battery okey.

motorola: good technics, screen depands on model, pool battery, and difficult to operate.

eventually, i return to nokia, choosed this one N80 and 8800

this is gonna be a funny comment coz it's gonna lack a main direction..but whatever! i've had my N90 for like almost 3 months, and i'm tired of it coz now it almost always hangs/resets/shows MEMORY FULL after ending a call or after taking a photo after that time when i dropped the stupid brick on some rocks before I went snowboarding, so like yeah IT'S BROKEN!! anyway i never bothered to get it fixed so i gave it to my mom, and i don't even know if she's figured out how to use it-- oh well.. but moving on, i got the urge of researching about the latest phones to replace my N90 - my choices were the N70, N71, N72, E70 and finally the SE k800i. i had a long and hard time comparing these phones and trying to solve my dilemma of picking the best/most or near-practical phone for me. and guess what--i ended up buying the N80. so yeah, it's perfect for me. THE END!

Regarding the old and new SIS files. That would explain why SeleQ v1.7 doesn't work on N80 but works on N70. So has anyone got a SeleQ that works on N80??

hi had my phone for about a month plus. very outstanding smartphone. read the comments here. had some of those problems myself. HOWEVER, after i sent my set for a firmware upgrade (a week ago), i dont find any troubles with it (especially the hanging & rebooting). camera & video quality are still the same tho nevertheless but to get a high-end-difinition pictures or video, might as well get an indivudial digicam and video cam. i think N80 is a nifty little device all packed into one, and just nice to be used as a regular mobile + digicam + videocam gadget.
for those of you having problems with your set, try firmware upgrade. i bought mine at an original Nokia dealer and sent firmware upgrade to the same place too.

I think this is a great hand set with enormous potential to sell but when people see the battery life and standby people.. especially me, might just think twice before purchase!

Had the N80 for about a month and I must say I am Impressed. I have always had nokia phones; my last phone was the 6630 which I believe was one of those phones that set the benchmark for phones to come. The N80 has done the same thing.
The first thing you will notice when you get the phone is the amazing TFT display. The quality is so unbelievably good that it gets a "WOW" reaction from almost everyone that sees it for the first time. After that when you start to flick through the menu, you notice how much quicker this phone is compared to the previous symbien nokia phones. The processing speed is really that quick. This is one of the biggest refinements compared to the predecessors.
After getting used to the menu system, I started to check the features of the phone, pretty much the same as the previous symbien phone with the exception of the connectivity features of this phone and the amazing web browser. The web browser has to be one of the best out there; this one actually loads up the entire site when browsing.
Overall the phone is excellent to use, the only slight downside is the 3 mega pixel camera, although a vast improvement from the previous model, the lack of auto focus slightly dents a brilliantly packaged phone [if you are being hyper critical]. Despite this I don't think there is a phone on the market that comes close to the N80 in terms of design, performance and the desirability. I would definitely recommend this phone if you are looking for a "smart phone".

                    stefen,
i dont think the n80 can play .wmv video files. try converting it to .3gp or .mp4. there's a video converter included in the pc suite

                                  Hey guys,

Got mine two weeks ago but waiting for my 2GB SanDisk memory card. At the moment, cannot perform much with 128MB.

One interesting application that I found was the Nokia Internet Radio (google it). It is a prototype but it works. So now I can just enjoy the crispy Internet shoutcast radio station over WLAN. Great!

I converted one of my mpegs into and MP4 video so I could play it on the fone, however, while the video does transfer to my phone, I have trouble playing it.

I can see the thumbnail of the video on the phone but it always says " unable to play clip"

                                      why is that?

                                        To Matthew:
Thanks for answering my question. But one more thing... How do I format my phone memory? I don't think you can. And won't that delete the firmware too?
