I like N81 But I want to know two things about it 1. Its market Cost & 2. Can we download any kind of software in it Like anti Virus. Please Some one let me know about it.

the screen goes blank after some while in both the cases when the sleep mode is ON and OFF can someone tel is there any option so that the screen keeps on displaying Time and date.
And also from where to download the opera mini for N81(2GB) version

its going nowhere if you keep on fighting... i agree with Tsepz... n81 is way different from Ngage... n81 is the best.. the looks and the features.

If you're so interested then go to the Ngage site and check the Games section.
The N81 is a Music, Video and Gaming Phone. Have you seen how it's boxed? Once you see that you will know what it is positioned as, even the Music Player activates automaticaly like how it does on all other music NOKIAS. Remember that NOKIA said that their Ngage2.0 phones are NOT going to be JUST Ngage because the last time they did that it flopped and was cracked worked on phones it wasn't made for.
Why buy an mp3 player when there are music smartphones like N91, N81, Samsung i450, i-Phone, 5700 etc. . . That kill most dedicated mp3 players at their own game, i like most people prefer to carry one device especialy for Music.
I don't know why im saying all this cause i guarantee your next reply will once again nitpick something ive mentioned above and blow it out of proportion. . . . .

why 0h why d0 u l0t praise the n81 as a "music ph0ne" juss cuz it g0t a music chip(wuteva the heck kinda music chip it g0t).
if i BUY the n81 it sh0uld BE f0r the "n-gage platf." AND all the "n-gage games" i can possibly play N0T f0r its FRIGGIN' s0und chip/mp3 player-ability!!! i mean, after all, it IS an "n-gage gaming device", riiiiiiiiiight???
if all the n81 can 0ffer RIGHT N0W is a really c00l "s0nic experience"(l0l) then maybe u l0t 0ughta just grab a "decent" mp3 player and save urselves AL0T 0f CASH.

ACTUALY, the N81 has got a 3D Graphics Accelerator, difference being that in the N82, N95 and N95-8gb its a seperate hardware, whereas in N81 the Freescale i.mx31 chip its using has the 3D chip all in one chip it just needs overclocking which i think the Ngage app in N81 and N81-8gb is doing thats why when it instajs Ngage it installs OpenGL For N81, theres a nice long PDF file explaining the hardware components the N81 chipset, dont worry i dont expect you to understand. ;-)

I am not trying to convince myself this phone is better, because I believe it is. I was just pointing out some differences for other people because what i had to say was very important and could influence someones life greatly. You really can;t compare the iphone to this phone at all, the N81 is in a completely different league with it being 3G and all, which is probably the most important feature for a entertainment phone.
Also the person a few posts below replacing "o" with "0" your sentences arent making any sense at all, grammar might help

Can someone please tell me if the quality on this phone is good and reliable. I mean for such a non-slim set, it should be. please respond because when i picked on up in the store, it felt cheap and plasticy, but i think it was a fake. Please respond with the quality factor. Cheers.

N81 is a nice h/p but why the camera jt 2megapixies? if 3.5 / 5 megapixies i think is perfect h/p!!!! anyway this month i will buy it already. if n81 can update the camera i think is a good news. i will support nokia hold life.

Its dual speakers are tooooooooooooooo good,
it is a good competitor to sony ericsson phones. Its a damn good phone. Its worth having a N81.

I'm from South Africa, and I ordered my n81 nearly 3 weeks ago, and I'm STILL waiting! I really want this phone, but this specific service provider is the cheapest over here... *sigh*

Hello! I'm a senior Chemical Engineering student from the Philippines. I Had this phone just January this year(2008). I never had a regret of grabbing a Nokia N81. Very smart and user-friendly. Great music and user interface too! I agree that the camera's not that appreciable. Should I say, its a mediocre type but who cares? I usually prefer digital cameras over cellphones. Coz I think, nothing compares to digital cameras in taking excellent pictures.
Have you ever known Python Programming Language? It runs in Symbian60 mobile phones and its latest version is excellent for series60 third edition feature packs 1&2 (e.g. N81,N82,N95,N96 and other latest releases of N series not N80,N73,N70,N90,N91,ect.)
I have made computer programs in chemical engineering problems and it even made me do away with my desktop and laptop computers. Thanks to Nokia N81. A very smart phone indeed. I recommend you guys to buy this uniy. Whichever you prefer( the 2GB or 8GB), they are just the same in terms of functionality and features. Only memory varies.
