I think N81-8GB is the one with these creeking problems cause my N81 isn't having these problems, and most if not all reviews testd only the 8GB.
My N81 doesn't creek, its very solid and quiet.

I've had my Nokia N81 8GB for about 2 weeks now and have to say that it looks nice. The speakers are sufficiently loud, the sound is reasonably clear. And you will be pleased with good memory size.

The trouble is that for the price you have to pay for this phone it feels very cheap when you actually use it. I am sure the bizzarre rattling noise has been mentioned in many reviews. In addition, the phone also makes very strange creaking noises when you slide it upwards. Also, the buttons feel very cheap and make the same strange creaking noises. I suppose the only consolation is that you're not likely to hear any of these noises if you use your phone in a noisy environment. However, considering the price you pay, you don't expect your phone to feel like a cheap toy from China. It looks expensive but feels very cheap.

                @ Miryan
Get N81! Its much better than a 5700. N81 has WiFi, louder speakers, bigger screen, bigger battery, Ngage gaming, and its just so much better!

Is the 3mm audio output jack on this phone the same as the regular walkman earphone dimension?

It's a very nice and capable phone but the designers should work to make a better slide and to make it light i like it

Yep, what Jon2 said. And you can make your mp3 ringtone into 3-D mp3 ringtone.

Yes, you can use MP3s as ringtones, just like most Nokia phones. Mine came with an album of Maroon 5. You can add more MP3 songs downloaded from iTunes or Limewire and use them as ringtones, too.

                                      Tsepz_N81,

also wondering if you can use mp3's as ringtones on the N81 or do you have to download them? thanks!
