marian, 26 Nov 2008hi, were u guys able to upgrade your firmware to 21.0.008? ... moreI updated a few days ago to V21.0.008. The phone is now no longer hackable, and the update doesnt allow installing CorePlayer in the Mem Card, it has to be installed in the internal mem. Other than all that its a welcome update, havent had a single reboot even during very heavy useage and the phone handles RAM a lot better whilest multitasking.

I've used this phone for about 2 months, its a pretty cool machine but what scares me is the 'shakey' slide. Yes, the slide shakes and i think it could be a factory defect cos some people i know complain about the same issue

i have someone using it and what i felt, i cant explain. i wish i could afford it. Nokia always wins.

i am planning to buy n81,n73 or n95 and the decisive factor is the loudness or clearnes of the speakers..so wich one is louder or clearer on loudspeakers?thx

n81 is a quality phone, just wished it had minimum 3.2 mpixel cam and gps but none the less this is class mobile

if you can see on the review the n81 8gb of GSMarena the camera is different because say 4.8mm 1.2.3 on the other n81s not say this and if this is 8gb version in the front on the phone just say n81 not n81 8gb and this n81 looks like a more plastic than others n81 well one critic of the state of the n81 "8gb" of the GSMarena

Anonymous, 27 Nov 2008u better buy n82 rather than n81. for only a few bucks more... moreIt can not slide. And doesn't fit in small N81 pocket case. It doesn't have music buttons, and doesn't play music with the quality of N81.

itZ quite a c00l phone me and my girlfriend have it n experiance nothn wrong with it...
N82 is such a brick!! but for the same price it does have a 5 meg pixel camera

And the CorePlayer stoped working, even if i reinstall it, the phone just restarts when i try to open it. Damned!

help me out. which is better, n82 or n81 8gb? and which performs best, n82 with 8gb microsd/sdhc or n81 8gb? im just afraid to have the n81 8gb because it's a slide-phone type, and i have an experience of having a slide phone with the reflex damaged jst havin it for a few months. pls repz. tnx

Nokia N81 8GB is better then the n96 beacuse its good and have more applictions then the N96{:

Anonymous, 22 Nov 2008I saw someone was asking if it is possible to use the GPS F... moreYou can download maps of the place you are going to just by browsing it, lets say at home via your own wifi (they will stay in the memory). And when you connect to the satellite the phone will ask the permission to use the network. If you choose not to use it, then you'll be able only to see your current position on the map you have previously downloaded, without the option of guided navigation. It refers to all Gps enabled phones even with external bluetooth receivers. Standalone Gps devices are using their own software with all the maps and guidance preinstalled. So if you can find gps software for a symbian with all the features in then there will not be any need to use a network.

moey , 19 Nov 2008i have n81 8gb ... i have used 663 mb of the mass memory an... moreu have to change ur settings to store recived files in memory card or in this case hard disk n nt phone memory...
only then will u b able to use the entire space of ur HD.

But it will be costly if you want to use it on the go.Because in order to be tracked by the satelite , your device need internet connection which can be made by either using your wireless Wi-Fi or by your using intrenet via your provider.

moey , 19 Nov 2008i have n81 8gb ... i have used 663 mb of the mass memory an... morei also use a n81 8gb...when you use bluetooth to transfer music to ur phone, it gets received in the msg inbox, n that is in the phone memory, which is very small... it is better to use the usb cable to transfer music and other stuff to ur phone and it is much faster...
