Just install Nokia PC Suit from CD include in box.
U can see Nokia software updater.
Join ur fone to Comp,
click on this..\
Then Sleep..
When U wake Up..
U will see that is updated.

Regarding Chinese made N81s...
I bought mine on eBay, and I found a major difference between Chinese made N81s and European devices: The Chinese devices do not appear to have WIFI or GPS capability. Check for yourself if you don't believe me...

Don't think you converted the video to a smaller size and bitrate. N81 supports playing videos at high bitrates but you need to download the third party software to do this. Try to install "coreplayer". It's the best so far, supporting mp4, DivX, XviD, WMV, 3GP and plenty of audio codecs. It's got a bit complicated interface, but once you configured the settings there is no need to complicate youself anymore. If you can convert the video, go for DivX codec, and install "DivX player". It's free and very easy to use. The minimum conversion video settings for me (without losing visible quality, watching on the phone screen) are 400 kb/s video bitrate, video resolution of 320x240. Make sure to use an appropriate audio codec for your videos while converting (mp3 for DivX, XviD), (AAC for mp4). Hope this helps

This phone is a cheap heavy and ugly brick. The buttons fell off mine and the slider is now really loose, what a pathetic waste of 200 euro.... It reboots the whole time as well.
