But i can understand afrikaans since i take it as my 2nd Additional 1st Language at school. Ye thats very true, the N81 is a great entertainment phone,and unlike some of the others it does what its meant to do the best. During daylight outdoors its camera performs well and thats all i need, for serious photography ive got a SONY 6.1MP Cyber-Shot Digicam as well as my SE K850 if i want to take night pics and dont wana carry a digi cam.

many people criticize n81 because they believe every nseries phone must be a n95 wannabe. but i don't think so. n81 is positioned as a music and gaming phone whose targeted audience are music freaks and game addicts. i believe a music phone don't need much of great imaging powers! i'm a music aficionado and i care the least on camera. for me n81 is the best music phone released to date, much better than n91. i'm definitely going to buy one again especially now that price has come down.

Hey all,
Could someone please tell me which phone has the better, clearer speaker for music, N81 or W980?
I'm interested in them both and i currently use a K800, so the N81's camera would be a downgrade, but i just want a phone where i can just play music through the speakers and have a clear sound, nothing tinny.

I had n81 8gb for about a month and i can say in overall, it's great... my only gripe about it is that it dosen't have lock as in whenever you turn on the power of the phone, it only has lock if a change in sim card is detected...
The disadvantage of the n81 8gb is that when it is spoilt and being sent for repair, most probably you must delete all your personal media if you do not want anyone to view it---it lacks a card slot. here, the n81 micro sd version is better. But on the other hand, n81 8gb good as you can lock the phone in standby screen through the power button---one must know your password if not it cannot be used and view and send stuff inside it(except for n81 micro sd version as people can take out the micro sd and insert into another phone). So it is up to you which one you want...

And the navi wheel works almost everywhere! And also it is so soft to use, unlike the n81 where the wheel is so hard to press on! Really u have to try it!!
And what really upset me is that n78 don't have gaming keys and no ngage support available yet but i can wait!! Everything else is so dam perfect, and about the music keys i can find in the headset!!

Why do i get the feeling you don't own any of these phones? The "lag" part gave you away because thats one thing the N81 doesn't do. I bet you're gonna do the same in a weeks time at N78 Forum lol!

Guys Guys Guys Guys Listen to me!!!
I have bought this phone for a week, i has serious problems in the sliding!!! It lagggggs, it is sh*t!|!!!!!!
i bought a n78, it is the perfect phone ever made!!!
1. it has a 3.5G which is lot faster than n81
2. the sound!!!! the n78 has a clearer sound than n81!!
3. the browser is lot much better than that sh*t n81
4. it is more upgraded; it has OS9.3 feature pack 222222
5. it is much better in the camera
and don't say anything about the lens!!!! IT IS PERFECT!!!!
That n81 has a bulls*it of camera !!
An advice to you all
DONT BUY THAT SH*T N81 , IT IS SH*T
BELIVE ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i tried to install the blz installer on my n81..its a .sis file but it says "application not supported" i really want to install classic ngage games...please tell me what to do

True, N78 is better thn N81 bcoz its got 3 MP Cam, HSDAP(useless for my country), TV-OUT(this is What i want), but not in sound quality i think, "TS" got some points. i wish they update TV-OUT on next Firmware... since N81 hv already Hardware..

Those who are considering the N78 keep in mind that in some regions like the Middle-East countries the FM Transmitter has been removed or disabled due to laws against Radio Transmitters. It sounds like a great feature i must say,but its not enough for me to get a N78, ive got my N81 and K850 for now and waiting on the XPERIA to come along, i wana get the Black one.

Yep try updating, V20.0.056 maybe available for your product code.
Tell me what your product code is and il check for you. You'll find it in your N81 under the battery. Look for sumthn that says CODE: Give me that number.

Im sure you're aware that not all N78s have that Transmitter, especialy in places like India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and i thnk in Russia as wel.

Is N78 Best in Music ? or its nearly good as ... moreIve played with a N78,and 1st thing i did was try the Music since it was connected to a NOKIA headset in store. I agree with r.o.c.k that its sound is far better than N82. But the N81 is still a lot better, its more crisp,louder and way more bassy. Although i can say N78 was good,it wasnt good enough for some whos had a N91 or N81 IMO.

Honestly, N78 is a lot better than N82 in terms of sound quality. The bass and treble are much deeper, and more pronounced. I've never had N81 'cause I don't like that phone. N78 is really fun to use as a music player. It's complete with all music options - 8-band equalizer, album art, visualization, support of all major audio codecs, ability to play music via any type of headphones using the 3.5mm jack, ability to be hooked to your home stereo system, play music using the stereo speakers and last but certainly not the least, ability to play music to any FM radio receiver using the FM transmitter which is really fun. I can ask my circle of friends to tune in their phone's fm radio to my defined station and I will broadcast my music collection and they enjoy listening to it. So I would say, N78 is the complete and best music phone.
