Yep. The phone is a lot more stable, it boots up faster, and the Navi wheel is more responive. Theres also been an increase in battery life,although it was already great, and its become lite on RAM useage, even when using the built in Web browse, which has also become faster. All in all a great update.

      Hi Jon
      Yep there is quite an improvement. The device is a lot more stable,even when running java apps. When the Transitions are Turned Off in Theme Menu effects the phone is incredibly fast. RAM is still 40.5-42mb on boot up, but the phone is now lite on RAM useage even when using the built-in Web browser. Another improvement is the battery life which seems to have improved quite a bit even though it was already good. The navi wheel is more responsive and works in Contacts as well as in Messaging. All in all its quite an improvement from V11. The Web browser is faster even via GPRS and it loads Flash content in sites VERY well. Like i mentioned before, im now able to do 360-degree View right here on GSM Arena with the built-in Web browser. Its worth updating to.

                      i absolutely love this fone!!!!!! i hav had it for 6 months now n i just keep falling in love wit it..n da only difference between n 81 & n 81 8gb is da memory..
                      the sound quality is gr8 n da sliding is smooth..however, da camera could be a problem since its only 2mp..

                          The N81 can do ALL of that already. Lol N78 has VGA @ 15FPS recording,it looks TERRIBLE! The QVGA @ 15FPS the N81 does is better! GPS? A lot of contracts give you the N81 with a BT GPS Reciever which works MUCH better than the built-in one on N78! Lol the N78 doesn't even have Gaming or Music keys, what a joke! Whats the point of Ngage on a N78 with terrible keys? LMAO! The N81 has Wi-Fi, and 3G so large files arent a problem to download. N81 supports up to 32GB MicroSDHC memory cards just like N78, N81's navi-wheel now works in most Menus like N78 PLUS the N81 has the Menu Effects and Transitions of N78! :-P with N81 i can even close the slider and use the Gaming keys as scrolling keys whilest web browsing in landscape mode! Can the N78 do that? Oh wait no! It has no gaming keys and its a bar shape, not slider. LOL! Let me not forget the N81 has FAR superior sound quality and well placed loudspeakers. :-) N78 only has the camera, and Kind of GPS over N81. :-P

                            Guys, pls don't buy N81 or else you're gonna regret it. N81 is for music and games only. Nothing more. Buy the N78. N78 is an all-in-one device. It is good for imaging and video since it has 3.2MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics, and video recording in VGA resolution; N78 is also a good in music with stereo speakers and 3.5mm jack plus support for 8GB and bigger capacity cards; also has NGAGE gaming; good for web browsing and downloading large files from the internet because N78 has WIFI and 3.5G/HSDPA; and also has GPS with A-GPS function for navigation. See? N81 is not even half of N78.

                                Ive updated my N81 to V20.0.056, this is great, Well done NOKIA! The menus look great with the transition effects, device is a lot more stable, even Ngage has improved. Im loving it.

                                        i got my n81 8gb 7 months ago and still working really good ... i don't have any problems with this phone...this is a great phone...
