my gps with nokia maps connects almost immediately.
if you live in the desert or in the mountains the signal could be weaker, specially because the us army is not making efforts to maintance gps satellites.
if you let wifi and gps and a bunch of programs running all the same time your battery will be dead soon.
it is a lithium batery not a nuclear power cell
learn how to use your phone and save energy.

the battery doesn't last anywhere near the spec time and will always die when you really need it and the sat nav is pants it will take you round the houses and get lost on a straight road cant wait till i can up grade

good day ,please can someone tell why is it that when i take a video of +/- more than 30000kb it wont open and says "unable to open video" my phone is only 3months old ..id hate to take it to service provider as i dont believe there should be a big problem.THANKS

........., 22 Jun 2009And whats the Diff. between the silver and the black ?white colour is from earlier edition. if you purchase new ones it should come in black colour. In my country, even black colour isn't available anymore. but you still can buy good condition 2nd hand with nokia guarentee still valid. as in my case, yesterday I purchased it for only rp. 2,650,000 (usd 252).. sweet! isn't it? :D. this fully packed features phone N82, with same specs even as N97 minus touchscreen already sell so cheap.. the previous owner just never use the applications, not even email address and I'm not sure if he's ever browse the net either!! and according to the girl of nokia counter, he isn't the only one like that lol.. I was at the counter to install my email and gps setting,. and when I asked her about office editor software, she said it's only available for E-series, make me little bit dissapointed. anyway, it still great phone with so much application that I need to learn. Oya I almost forget about the black screen.. apparently there's one dude who encountered this problem, and his set is silver, which is of older release. I'm not sure if this particular problem is his only, or is there anybody else. we'll wait and see for another comments. cheers..

N82 is awesome. Internet is fast and i don't have any problems with it. I chose the black one cos it looks better.

If there any N82 that wasn't made in China, which one is that, the earlier silver or the later black colour? My point is maybe it's not all N82 made in China are bad.. maybe it's just on that certain production period, which we need to know. Anybody which have N82 with blackscreen can give any data relgarding the country and manufacture date? And have you gone to Nokia counter to fix this problem? thanks.

when does that problem occur? even when the cellphone is just newly purchased? I haven't seen a problem yet since i just bought it this month.

I was posting couple weeks ago and said that I am looking for N82 new, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Well.. after going around and searching for used N82, finally I got mine N82 black and still with authorized nokia guarantee. Cost only Usd 252 for this fully packed features phone haha.. I'm so happy. with the camera, video, wifi, GPS.. wow! Thanks to GSM Arena because otherwise I didn't have a clue to pick this one. It's not a popular phone in my country. And the one that I bought, the previous owner never filled it with any applications, not even email address! And the girl of nokia counter said he's not the only one lol.. They buy nice specs phone, but just using it to take pictures and make a call. hahaha..

well Nokia N82 iz undoubtedly da Best set Nokia made, but yes it sumtimez Freezez but no black screen is there.
Itz in black casin.

All persons who have a n82 that freezes and gives the Black screen problem please check to see where it was manufactured or made and post your reply in this forum so that we can know if the set from china is totally faulty and whether we should avoid buying them. Please do that. It will benefit in the long run.

To know where your phone was made remove the batery and look on the codes near the sim holder. N82 is the best bar phone but the faulty batch from China must be avoided
